Sundance Dover

I have been searching everywhere locally for a 2/3 person tub. Most of the tubs I have found were either way more than I was willing to spend (hotsprings) or poorly constructed (big hunks of plastic with no insulation). I did find a tub that appears to be a great deal. It is a Sundance Dover, 2008 model. The owner of the spa store is in the process of moving his location so was willing to deal on this as it was his last spa not moved or sold. I cannot seem to find any price information on this hot tub tho.

Does anyone know if 4 thousand dollars is a good price? He said it was originally 7200 so it kinda seemed like a too good to be true deal.

The warranty is good, the store is local and dependable and the tub looks well made and feels like a perfect fit. I wet tested and was happy with the jets etc, and 4 grand is my upper limit that I can afford right now.

Also it is 110v or 220v, the dealer said that I could go ahead and start using it with 110 and he would do the conversion before summers end for free (I have a dedicated 110 now on my deck). He said that it would not cost that much more to run it during the summer months but that it would probably be wise to convert it before winter.

Does anyone presently use a 110 spa from Sundance and what has been your cost if you have?

Thanks for any advice.....really getting tired of looking at tubs....I need this bad for my back, I have 4 ruptured disks that cannot be repaired because of my degenerative spine and the only time I get relief is when I am floating. I take 3 hot baths a day and my water bill has been crazy high.

Located in Ohio.

Well I went ahead and bought it, delivery early next week :D

Finally got some prices from a dealer north of me, he says hes selling them for 6400, and was firm on his price, wasn't willing to drop or give any extras. He also would have to order it and said it could be 4 weeks :o So I guess its as good a deal as I can get for a high quality new tub in my price range, and I do really think its a perfect fit for me.

Not sure I wll need a cover lift yet, its a fairly small tub, so I will try it without, but if its too big I will definately get one.

Will keep ya posted!

Well, reinforced the deck and filled her up. Was a little worried when none of the jets worked, but pulled the panel and the lead for the #2 pump was dangling. Checked the schematic in the book, hooked her up and was of to the races. Took 24 hours for the tub to heat to 104 degrees, but it is still on a 110v so expected that also. Will convert it over this summer. Lost about a degree for an hour and a half with jets running, but think that may become worse when it gets colder.

Great Jets! Lots of power and since it is just me and the wife we can have jets on together all the time. Actually had to turn them down a bit myself. Roomy and perfect fit for both of us too. The recliner is awesome, love having a back massage and the foot jets on too. They have a unique set of jets that pulsate right to left or up and down. Feels like fingers digging in and kneeding your back! :P Nice to sit side by side and relax together also.

As for the cover lifter, I just added two 2X6s 4 foot long supported from the rail out the side of the deck for it to rest on, bought some steel tubing, conduit and clamps and made my own! Cost was 40 dollars. Just made a square out of the tubing so that a piece with a plastic conduit sleeve rested in the center of the tub, and used 4 c clamps a size larger on the handrail. Works great, can flop the cover with no problem. The cover is out of the way without obstructing the view and it looks good too!

If your looking for a great 2 person spa, The Sundance Dover is good choice, I plan on using mine 3 to 4 times a day.

Well, back in for another dip. :D
