West Palm Beach Leak Detection!

As a property manager we have been inundated with property's 'let go' by the owner's. And included are the pools on these properties. Not much work has been done to keep up on regular fixes etc. Pool leaks are a huge issue and our experience will blow your mind. All the company's that we contacted, offered different services and not one had similar prices. American leak detection are apparently the biggest company around here and they wanted the most money, yet promised and guaranteed results without destroyng our property(did not know what this meant at the time). We also called our local pool'guy' who quoted us $200 less tyhan American but after 3 weeks of troubleshooting 1 pool, they told us there was no leak. Hard to believe when the water bill is over 100 dollars and the hose must stay runn9ing in order to keep the pool filled(and nobody lives in the house). We then checked with the local yellow pages and hired a service leak detection company to locate our problem. This is where it gets interesting, they told us they would not charge us if they didn't locate the leak so we went with it. After a week they determined our vacuum line was broken and gave us a price to repair, after cutting open our deck and repairing a 'broken pipe' we filled the pool. 2 Days later the pool was down again and Blue Pool's company wanted to get paid. Turns out they fixed a pipe that wasn't even broken. We refused to pay and moved on. Called another leak company, Sonic Radar leak locaters, who inturn sent out a subcontractor and after 3 hours of walking around with his headset, told us we had no leak and that evaporation was too blame.

I waited 1 week and watched the pool water level drop down to see where it would stop, it didn't and I was afraid the structure could pop from water loss and underground pressure, so we filled it again and i CALLED 5 other local pool companies and scheduled different appointments. The next day a local Boynton company arrived, Metric pools . The man dove the 60 degree water(something no other company did) and in 20 minutes found the problem. He told me that he would epoxy the leak and it should work, but that draining the pool and fixing with cement was ultimately the best way for the repair. He agreed that our homeowner's budget would only accomodate the epoxy so he went forth with the repair. After he was done he told us to send payment when we knew the pool no longer leaked. The other 4 companies never showed up at all!

MORAL of the story

Out of 8 different pool companies and leak specialists contacted, only 1 person located our problem and 4 actually showed up at our premises. Out of the 4, 3 were absolutely useless and 1 tried to scam us.

The stats speak for themselves

Is it me or is South Florida this way? so please do your research before hiring anyone, check the price and check evaporation rates too, don't believe everything you hear either, check, check again and check some more!

GOOD LUCK
