Does Old Mps Lose Its Punch?

Anyone know if I can use (or need to toss), some older bottles of MPS I found in storage today? By the same manufacturer and looks identical to the stuff on the shelves at my dealer, but probably 3 years old or so. Thanks for any insight!

I was hoping to post an email from a manufacturer I received on this topic, but apparently I deleted it. Anyway, I was told that it looses about 5% potency per year. It may have been 5-10 percent. Either way, I wouldn't throw it out, but would instead use it, and add a little extra above the typical recipe to be sure you are using enough. It's an oxidizer, so you use a little extra to be sure you are oxidizing enough.

If you use the MPS every day and dichlor once a week, just be sure your dichlor uses are similar to what they have been. If you find your chlorine is being used up more than you are used to, then maybe you are not using enough of the aged MPS.

Hope this helps.
