afish
With a fiberglass pool is it OK to install the main drain/drains in the wall near the floor instead of in the floor? The reason I ask is the pool bottom has a constant slope (no flat area's) and it seems like getting it to sit level in the sand bed without making voids would be difficult once the drains and piping are installed on the bottom of the pool. don pool
The main drain/or drains, normally go in a pre fixed molded area of the pool specially designed for the main drain. Some pools don't have an area built into them for the drain. It is OK for the drain to be in the side wall, which is where they are usually located. Years ago the main drains were located in the floor of the pool which caused a lot of problems such as those you described.
