  1. Hi All, We bought a Canadian Spa Swift Current V2 around 2 years ago. It's not had a great deal of use, but been well maintained (it's become a hobby) and is stored as per the guidance during the winter. We have numerous issues with it, however most recently and since getting back out of storage, is a persistent flow, or lack of, issue. It seems as if the pump circulating the water (the one that contains the impeller I assume) doesn't kick in, causing insufficient flow and then the PCU overheats throwing an E5 error. We can not clear this, unless we take it apart, remove the impeller and reseat it... although I'm not entirely sure what that achieves. We've done this 4 or so times. 2 occasions its just randomly stopped working. The other two have been when we stop the jets before they're scheduled to finish their cycle. It's all very strange, and I'm at a loss of what to try or do. We've tried to speak to Canadian Spa (in the UK) however their customer service is terrible. When I contacted them a few months back, before stripping the unit myself, they didn't reply for 2 months. Then more recently when I emailed asking for advice, they rang up and made it clear that they hadn't read my email or were aware of the things we had tried. Even when explaining on the phone they weren't listening. They want to charge £60 to courier it too them, then £60 to replace the impeller (that may not actually be the issue), then send it back 'working'. My concern is that I can get it 'working', only for it to die a few weeks/months down the line. Has anyone has similar issues, or can suggest a way to resolve it. I can't seem to find the full circulation pump online to buy it myself and it seems pointless to just replace the impeller (although happy to be corrected). Ive stripped the unit almost completely to ensure theres no muck in any of the pipes. I use an anti limescale solution once a week since we initially noticed a build up within the heat exchange, so that shouldn't be an issue. [EDIT] I've seen another topic that mentioned a damaged impeller. Whilst the grinding noise etc do also occur although we can't remember if that was just general noise (its not that loud), the impeller itself seems to be in good condition? Hopefully someone can offer some guidance, it would be very much appreciated 🤞 Thankyou
  2. I recently purchased a Superior Spa hot tub used. Before buying everything worked as it should. Temp was around 98 when I went to look at it. Once hot tub was relocated, and filled, the heat would not get above 77 degrees when the temp was set at 95. I have turned the temp up to 105 and it won’t go above 81 degrees. I did some research and found it could be a possible flow restriction from the filter or a clogged pipe. I’ve also read to use a multimeter to check voltage at the heater terminals. I do do not have a manual for this tub and after looking on google it seems the company is out of the UK and for some reason no info will load on their website. Questions: Does anyone have any info on where I can obtain specific information on my model of hot tub? Get a manual? Had anyone had a similar issue as I, to help troubleshoot my problem? Thanks for reading.
  3. We just got a used 2008 Dimension one California jasper model hot tub. We are new to hot tubs. We ordered new filters and installed them. The tub heats up but we keep getting “Low flow error”. Not sure what is causing this to happen. Just want to enjoy my new spa and we have yet to make it in. Thanks to anyone who can help.
  4. My pool filter won't automatically or manually shut off. I have a Hayward Aqua Logic system. Recently I've noticed my pool filter won't automatically shut off according to the timer I have set. When I try to manually shut it off, it continues to flow, even though the control pad will toggle between off and on. The only way I can get it to shut off is by cutting the power. It's hit or miss....some mornings it works fine, others..not so much. Is this a problem with the filter relay? Thanks in advance.
  5. First time on this forum, so much help and information it is fantastic. I have a Jandy Aquapure 1400 SWG that is 9 years old. I have replaced salt cell and sensor in past years. I check and clean the cell and sensor every month. The cell stopped generating chlorine about 2 weeks ago, the panel shows "no flow" and the "cell reversing" light seems to stay on all the time. There are no other codes that show up on the panel. The temp and saline level readings on the front panel seem to be accurate after manually checking them as well. My sensor is the black epoxy type with the additional daughter board installed. I have tried resetting the daughter board 3-4 times by holding down the reset button but it didn't help. While holding down the reset button after about 15 seconds the "cell on" and "flow" lights on the front panel come on and off for about a second, then nothing. Also the little green light on the daughter board is constantly blinking so I don't know if that is normal or not. I had a new daughter board so I replaced it but got the same results. My questions are is the daughter board malfunctioning or do I need to replace the sensor again? I have photos of both the daughter board and face of the sensor if that would help. Thanks so much for your help.
  6. I recently got a "free" hot tub.... man are those some quotation marks!! OK... here's the story. After spending a good deal of time unfreezing my new "free" hot tub and running some expensive electrical wire.... I finally fired it up. Day 1: Temp (57° water) is displayed but "TEMP" logo is blinking. Water does not seem to be moving. I diagnosed as a circ pump issue. Pulled apart circ pump... did not seem to be anything wrong. Put back together... worked shortly and crapped out again. I purchased a new circ pump from the local spa place. Inlet and outlet are only 3/4 not 1"... I just buy some reducers and hook it back up. I can't get the control panel to stay on for more than 5 minutes. I decided that during transport the circuit board got dirty... I give up... drain tub... prepare for 10° temps. Day 2: I take circuit panel out... clean with electrical contact cleaner and tooth brush... Reinstall... Now... Topside control panel: Displays, "TEMP" not blinking and "F"... but not actual temperature reading. I hear some clicks then the topside control panel changes to ---- Then the panel resets.... shows same information.... Then resets again... I get ---- and the circ pump runs (i definitely see water moving)... but ---- continues to show Circuit board in the mean time: LIM OK LED is on HTR ON LED is off Control Unplugged LED is on Clicking... LIM OK flashes on then off LIM OK LED is off HTR ON LED is off Control Unplugged LED is on Clicking... LIM OK flashes on then off LIM OK LED is off HTR ON LED is off Control Unplugged LED is on LED D17 remains red lit I leave tub on .... with space heater in Jet pump compartment, water still moving (hopefully preventing a freeze) Day 3: I check limit sensor for resistance.... when cold: the multimeter jumps from 1 (meaning no connection) to 17 kohm when warm (I put the sensor in my mouth) I get a consistent reading under or around 10kohm I check the pressure switch... seems to have continuity when the circ pump is running I jump the pressure switch... does not change anything I check for continuity through the heater... seems good I pull the topside control panel plug and try to start the tub... same sequence from above... I decide main board is bad Day 4: I install a new main circuit board.... same result.... ERRRGGGHHH PLEASE help.... I am at a loss... I am going to have to call the tech out I think.
  7. Hi, hoping for some help with a "FL" flow switch error. Are fairly new owners of used 10 year old Catalina Bel Air Limited Edition spa. It has the Balboa CAT 100 spa pack and 3-button topside controls, single pump system, ozone, but no circulation pump. Had been working perfectly until we changed the filters yesterday, which were pretty dirty after 2 1/2 months and came with the spa so I don't know how old they were. We did clean the used filters 3 months ago when we installed the spa, but again, I don't know how old they were. The system uses (2) screw-in cartridge filters, which I purchased from Spa Depot online. After replacing the filters while the spa was full as normal, I circulated the water with the pump on high to clean out the debris that fell into the water after removing the old filters. Worked fine until I turned the pump down to low and noticed shortly afterward that there was no water flow and the topside panel said "FL", solid on, not flashing. I turned off the breaker, turned it back on and it worked fine, until later after the pump came out of high speed, should have been on low to heat and circulate. We were able to use the spa, but same thing after turning it on low, it wouldn't come back on without cycling the breaker. Water temperature was good at 100 degrees, jets work normally, and water flow into the filter seemed a little better since changing the filter. We did notice that there is less suction on the lower suction fitting, which we assumed was due to better water flow through the new, clean filters. This morning, the spa was 94 degrees, and the solid FL code was back, even though the pump was only on low speed overnight during the 4 hour circulation and heating cycles. Could this be due to better water flow through the filters and perhaps the computer is detecting this new condition, causing the error code? Can the flow sensor be adjusted? Could there be air in the system after changing the filter, even though I changed it while the spa was full? Could there be debris in one of the pipes near the sensor, and if so, can it be flushed out other than normal operation? Should I put the old filters back in? Does this have anything to do with changing the filters? Any help would be appreciated. BTW, my husband is an Electrician and can troubleshoot any wiring issues, though he has not worked on spas before. Just trying to help him out since he's a busy guy right now, and we have some cold weather in the forecast, so looking to avoid freezing problems. Thanks!
