  1. I did read the posts, but I do thank you for the reminder. We were trying to look into purchasing a pool kit and finding a local pool contractor to install. But, after doing a lot of reading and interviewing pool owners, we decided to go with a local gunite pool company that does not sub-contract (which I believe was the problem with Wavetec). They employ everyone, except the electrician. It seems like if you can contract your own work (provided one knows what theyr'e doing), you can cut a lot of costs.
  2. The research I've done so far suggests that steel-walled inground pools may prove beneficial for unstable grounds, and the vinyl would give some during ground movement. What do you know about fiberglass?
  3. Hello to all, I'm new here, and my husband and I are trying to decide upon a gunite or vinyl pool at our home in the Dallas area. We're told that the ground is unstable here, and that's why we were considering a nice vinyl pool. However, we had gunite before and are still unsure (after a lot of reading and asking questions) about the durability of vinyl. If there is anyone in the Dallas area, who has a vinyl pool, we'd love to hear from you (maybe even a visit to see your pool?). Please email me.
