  1. Thanks for info. I will look both of them up. Aranon
  2. Does anyone know a good heavy duty solar reel. I don't want one with plastic bearing. Perferably stainless steel bearings that is easy to roll up and unroll. I want to mount it permently on my fence which is about 3 to 4 feet away from the end of the oval. I have a 18 x 40 oval and man is it hard to roll up the bubble cover at night and unroll it during the day. Please help. Aranon
  3. Just to let you know for all who were wondering why I would buy a pool online. I did it to save money. I got my pool cheaper than the dealers around here and I also think I went a couple of extra steps and have done a better installation then they would have. I actually poured a 14" x 4" pad around my pool with reinforced concrete using metal edging as my forms. I also poured and leveled concrete pads for my butress free channels that stick out. I leveled everything with a transit and lasers and it all turned out great. The Tahitian metal/resin is made my Sharkline and it a top notch pool and liner. Everything went together easy and was very well made. They have the longest warranty and could not ask for better equipment or service or quality. My question is why wouldn't you buy your pool online. If you have the know how and the time, why pay someone else to come in and do an installation that you have no control of. My whold family helped. We had a great time. I got three boys. 11,12, 14. They mixed the concrete and had fun installing it. We now have something we all did together and actually made something. Thats a great feeling in itself. Acomplishment. We have been playing vollyball in it. We only have had it up and full for four days now. Its a little cold, but the solar panels are heating it up as I type. 80 degrees and climbing. We all marvel over what we did and we love it. Next come the deck. I guess you don't want me to build that either? Aranon.
  4. I just finished putting up a Sharkline Thahtian 18 x 40 oval buttless free pool with 2" blue Dow Chemical styrofoam. I put the gorillia pad (which looked like heavy white felt) on top of the foam and then the foam cove base. I absolutely love the feel of the bottom. It feels firm but soft. Its great walking on. No foot prints. No liner wrinkles. I taped the seams and there is one place where I can feel the seam. I had 1-2 inches of packed sand under the foam. If I had to do it all over again I think that I might use two layers of 1" foam with the seams crisscrossed. This way the top seams would be sitting on something more solid (the 1" underneath it) than sand. I was afraid my liner might be to big with 2" of foam, (was a j-hook liner) but it worked out great. In fact I was worried that the liner was streaching to much but worked out fine. No wrinkles at all. I love the bottom. Its great. Oh and I used the foam around the sides and it feels great too. Sort of soft when you touch the walls. It was blue and was the extra thick. Looked like a little over a 1/4" thick or more. Made by the same people who made the cove. Oh and if you are gong to use the foam, I cut mine to fit before I put the walls up. Since mine was an oval and the sides curve out, I used the frames as cutting guides layed on top of the foam and pre-cut it all to fit before I put the walls up. Inother words I had the foam in and taped before I put the walls in the rail. Aranon.
  5. Just in case anyone was wondering I found out that Tahitian is made by Sharkline. Tahitian is an internet store only model and it their top ot the line pool and is 54" deep. They private label it for different stores. Aranon
  6. I am going to use 2" Dow Chemical Blue Styrofoam. Also called Blue Board. You get it at commercial roofing supply stores. Also at insulation supply stores. These are all commercial but most will sell to you with a credit card. Especially when you tell them what you are using it for. Aranon
  7. I want to know who makes the Tahitian 54" above ground pool with 60 year warranty. Looking for a 18x40 pool. I have been told that Sharkline, Cantar, Atlantis and now I see the same ad but it says a different manufacturer. Its the same pool. This time it says: "Tahitian By Blue Wave" see below http://www.holidaypools.com/layout1b.cfm?item=2385 and to top it all off I find the same ad but now its called "San Marino™ 54" Deep Pool " instead of Tahitian. The exact same add as Tahitian and the same process to buy as the other web sites selling the Tahitian. see site below http://www.pcpools.com/products/sku-NB1200__dept-33.html So makes this pool. Whats its real name and is it any good. I am getting so confused. I can not find any manufactuers site that say they acutally make it but find all sorts of dealers who say all sorts of companies make it. Does anyone know. The best price I have found is at : https://stores.amerimerc.com/steel-wall-res...ol~tahitian.htm and they have free shipping. But I want to know who makes this pool and is it any good. And who is actually going to stand behind the warranty. Please help me, I'm going nuts. Thanks Aranon
