Bail it out. shop vac the remains, get a non scratch cleaner from a local spa retailer or online, then final clean with rubbing alcohol. Checking with the manufacturer always is a good idea. Some interior shells require special care.

Share your experience with adding chemicals to the water IE: walking or dumping. Some manufacturers recommend dissolving dry chemicals prior to adding to your spa. Has this made a difference to anyone. I have been adding "Alkalinity up" dry and dumping it rather than walking it over the surface. I think this is causing the PH to continually rise day after day. Any Comments? When I add PH down I always dissolve first and walk it over the surface. Works great that way. Bendite

I purchased a Marquis Envy about 6 months ago. My tub is running on 110/120. My electric bill went up about $7 a month. I expected about 5 times that much. I use it about 1/2 hour a day and I am very pleased with the low cost. I live in a cold climate as well.

6 month review. No problems with any part of the Hot tub. My electric bill went up about $7 a month using 110/120v Not kidding. This is a good sign of quality. I am happy with the size for 2 people. The jets have plenty power for me on the smaller pump available. Two times the breaker tripped due to tub use and a lot of kitchen appliances running at the same time, not sure if 220/240 would have made a difference. Ideally 220/240 would be best for cold climates so the tub will heat while the jets are on high. Great Tub for two people

I am on Well water with lots of sediment. I tried several pre filters and clogged them all with in 10 minutes. I can tell you even if you dont have sediment the pre filters will slow your fill time considerably. I would say 10 times longer. After all pre filter attempts failed I purchased a secondary main tub filter, filled the tub, let the tub filter catch all the sediment after a few cycles, then replaced the filter with my back up in a day or two and all as good for 3-4 months. If your problem isnt sediment and you dont mind a much longer fill time I would use the Micropure pre filter. See my post titled "pre filter" using the search button on top right of the page. here is a response from Taylor Technologies when I asked why their literature said test immediately but their customer service said let samples cool off. Dear Bendite, Thank you for your email, it was forwarded for my reply. Higher spa temperatures can affect test results. The current recommendation is to let spa water cool to an ambient temperature or at least under 90ºF before testing. If you take a 25 ml sample of the hot water and let it sit for about 30 seconds, which could still be considered immediate. It usually cools down enough to get an accurate test. I contacted Taylor Technologies and they confirmed that before testing water samples you should let the sample Cool off first. Hot water does affect the reagents. I did not get a allowable temperature however. This does not mean lowering your spa temp, just the sample. Surprisingly Taylor test booklet suggest's testing the sample immediately, I am guessing this is a "pool" suggestion since the pool water is colder. Anyone know if room temperature would be OK?

I am contemplating buying a hot tub for my wife and myself. I have narrowed the choose to the Marquis Envy, Jacuzzi J210, Cal Spa VX 520R, Solana RX and Coast Spa Geneva. My biggest concerns are assuring comfort, getting good shoulder soaking and quick heat up time. From what I have read so far, neither of these units appears much different from each other. I wanted to ask you on your experience with the Marquis Envy regarding my concerns? Mike T Mike I suggest going 220/240 for faster heating times. 110/120 maintains the temp all right but I can tell in the winter it will cool quickly while using it. My wife and I have found the Envy to be a perfect 2 person spa. This is not a lounging tub, but you can still stretch out if you want to. You just wont get back support. I have good shoulder coverage. I am 5' 11" 200 lbs. The water level rises over the water filter housing when you get in, as it is designed to do. There are some upgrades for this model. I wouldn't upgrade to a 160GPM pump. The 120 GPM does just fine for me. I do wish I would have gotten the built in chemical cartridge upgrade feature but the frog is only a bit of a hassle. Bendite

Just received the MicroPure micron pre filter. It is trickling at .25 GPM. Thats right 1/4 GPM. At this rate my 250 gallon hot tub will be filled in about 16 hours. I suspect it will clog long before that, making this product a waste of money for filtering sediment. The MicroPure rep online suggested this pre filter for sediment. I hope PoolandSpa will refund my money. Bendite Poolandspa would not return my money for the pre filter I tried. Not surprised. Customer service these days is weak. Hope my experience saves someone else some money. Pre filters that attach to a garden hose just dont work. If you have a lot of sediment there are some serious house filters, but they cost a lot. My local Marquis dealer quoted me the Envy for 5600 "SPECIAL PRICE" b'cos they have many in stock and wanted to "move them "...... BYE BYE Marquis !! Marquis is made very close to where I live so my lower cost probably is a result of shipping cost's. Also I had a no upgrade model. I think you can get them to lower the price. 1 month review Really enjoying the Marquis Envy. No problems! Perfect for my wife and I. The local Bend, Oregon Marquis dealer is Great. The spa temp comes pre set at 102 degrees. I found out later you can up it to 104. Oh Yeah!!! An upgrade to 160 GPM from 120 GPM pump is offered but my opinion would be, that it may be too much for this little tub. Keep in mind I have not experienced the upgrade so this is just speculation. bendite

The Stallion: I was not Knocking the Marquis brand. Just the length of time for 120v to heat up. SpaTech; I did think it would be cheaper for 240 so I guess I wont save any money. Other than quicker heating times a 240v will continue heating with the jets on high where as 120/110 will not. A good benefit in the Winter IMHO. Bendite

Hi I just purchased a Marquis Envy. I purchased a 120 volt model that is convertible to 240. I thought 120 would be fine even though it will not heat when the jets are on high. It has not been a problem but I imagine it will be in the winter here in Oregon. The main problem is heating up after filling the tub. 120 volt takes five times longer than 240. It took almost 48 hours to heat my 250 gallon hot tub on 120 volt. I was not happy with the wait. I am afraid to see the electric bill. I chose the 120 volt set up with possible converting to 240 later on because the cost of installing 240 was very high. I am now getting 240 installed because the benefits seem worth it. I was able to find an electrician that would trade labor so that is how I am able to afford the cost. Good luck

Second soak Got my wife to actually join me instead of feeling the water with her hand. It was very cozy with the 2 of us. I would say almost perfect. She changed her mind about the temperature being too cool. I am liking the size better now, I must have felt lonely in it by myself earlier. I think we will be very happy with it when we get 240 volt power to keep it heating with the jets on high. Bendite

I just purchased a Marquis Envy 120 volt model. It can be converted at a later time too 240 if you move. It is a smaller model but the price was under $4300. I started a Topic on this model. Marquis also has the Retreat model and maybe one other small one. Bendite

On the 220 volts your heater stays on low or high on the pump. 104 degrees I will check it out. Thanks! I am quickly becoming a 240 volt fan even though the initial cost is high. Bendite

First soak thoughts Marquis Envy. Surprisingly the Envy feels smaller with water in it. I would have thought the opposite would happen. It is too small at 76" in diameter for me at 6' 200lbs. The 35" depth is very nice though. Spamaster asked about the bench seats. You would not like these as the seats actually are not horizontal but slope downward as they go back. However, if you rest your buttocks on the front edge of the seats you can get a nice laid back position and it is comfortable to me. My tub being 120 volt power it will not heat with the jets on high. Temp is around 102- 101 degrees and my wife does not like it. The jets are fine but not my priority so take that into consideration. This would be a great tub for 2 people that are not over 5' 8" max. I will be looking to upgrade immediately if the dealer is generous. Bendite

I am still waiting for the temperature to get up over 85 degrees. 120 volt is 5 times slower than 240 according to the owners manual. The Envy is a 250 gallon tub and without water is very light in my opinion. I was able to slide it around fairly easily on my deck after delivery. This was a nice surprise. The drain is slightly above the floor so you will need to bail about 4 gallons when draining. I made a nice bailer out of a plastic milk jug (cleaned well). It took some time to prime the pumps, I had some sediment and Pre filter issues. See my topic in Water Chemistry, filling and re-filing (Well owners).

I am filling my spa for the first time. I live in a rural area and have a well. My well has a lot of sediment. My dealer gave me a fill filter that had open cleats and attached to the end of a garden hose. This product failed miserably. It allowed a lot of sediment thru. I then got a Clear choice filter which is a sealed Pre filter that also fits on the end of a garden hose. There were no instructions so I didn't clear the filter (run water thru on ground before putting in the spa) so I got a bunch of white milky product (be nice) in the Spa. I drained the spa and started re filling with very clear water. Only problem is a much slower fill time. My 250 gallon spa is not even 1/4 full after 5 hours. I did a little research and found Eco one has a Pre filter that allows 2 GPM and filters 8000 gallons per filter. Clear choice is running about 1/4 a gallon per minute and filters 500 gallons. Eco one is $49.99 Clear choice is $29 Has any one tried the Eco One Pre filter.

First post. I recently purchased a Marquis Envy. This is a new production model 2007. I purchased the 120 volt model because wiring for 240 was going to cost $1800. My price was under $4300 with an Ozonator installed. This was a floor model sale price. Unfortunately, the floor model did not come with the Constant clean upgrade so I will be using the Frog system for now. I will be getting the Hot tub delivered tomorrow and will post an update about it's performance after a week or so. Any other "Envy" owners out there. Bendite
