  1. I'm sure the the building being built in Mexico was a financial one. Do you feel that the quality and workmanship is the same on the tubs coming out of Mexico as the ones coming out of The US? The regulations can't be the same. In my personnal opinion I find the Hot Springs line to be some of the finest Hot Tubs I have ever seen. The Grandee is the nicest tub I have ever seen in person. The Hot Spot versions I'm not so familiar with so don't really have an opinion on those.
  2. I agree that there is a big difference between China and Mexico. The stuff coming from China is far worse. The only reason a company would shift operations to mexico is to save money. The turnoff is inferior quality though. You won't be able to convince me that the quality of a US made tub is the same as a tub built in Mexico. With the way the economy is in this country I would rather give my money to a US made product rather then to a company who outsorces there products to Mexico or any other foreign company
  3. I think everybody would rather by us made. Problem is the stuff made in Mexico or china is typically cheaper and people are always looking for a deal.
  4. That's some great service. Sounds like you found one of the better dealers
  5. Just out of curiosity why not a concrete pad? Probably would be about the same price wise. Looks like you did a nice job on the platform.
  6. I'm not a hot springs dealer but I believe that has been addressed on this forum a couple of times. I believe that hot springs has already replaced the heaters that we're affected
  7. The thing that would make me a little hesitant on the maax is the dealer being 80 miles away and how that will affect the warranty. Will he be charging trip charges on warranty calls if so how much, if not I would want that in writing
  8. I think the best choice you made is eliminating life's great. They were at a home show in my neck of the woods and the sales guy for them told all the customers that my company was a dealer and warranty center for their tubs. The week after the home show I got 7-8 calls asking questions about these tubs. I just don't think they are a very ethical company to deal with in my opinion
  9. Glad you responded spanky. I understand the bromine application. What would you recommend for a tub that says bromine voids the warranty as one of the lines I carry says that in their warranty. That is why I have always recommended dichlor as that as what I have always used in my personnel hot tub. I also checked the cyanuric acid in my tub today and it's at about 40 ppm and that is after 5 months between water changes
  10. I did not know that. Most of my customers are on mainly dichlor so we don't sell much bromine anyway but it's good to know the proper way to use it.
  11. Won't the chlorine activate the bromine? I know plenty of people who keep good bromine levels with nothing but the tabs and dichlor once a week as an oxidizer
  12. Just out of curiosity spanky why do you use so many different chemicals in your tub. Bromine, sodium bromine and Clorox seems like complete overkll to me.
  13. Glad to hear it worked out for you. As far as manufacturers only paying certain amounts I have never run into this problem before. Whenever I have submitted a warranty claim they have been paid. I have never dealt with marquis though. Unfortunately nothing in this industry surprises me anymore
  14. In this case then you would only be charged a trip fee. I was assuming you were not returning to the dealer because you didn't like them or weren't happy with them. If he is selling and servicing marquis in your territory I would think he would be under obligation to provide the warranty work. A few times we have been called to do warranty work for people because they weren't happy with the current dealer and in those instances we would charge our regular rate minus what The factory pays. In your instance I think a trip fee is more then reasonable and $25 is cheap in my opinion
  15. Did you originally buy the hot tub from that dealer? If the tub was bought from us we don't charge any extra fees, if we are doing warranty work for someone who didn't purchase from us then we get our full labor charge. Hope this helps
