  1. First mistake of a salesperson is to assume someone cant afford their product!! Traveling spa sale...you wouldnt get me in the door/tent of one of these operations. If you can afford a better quality product, why settle for less?
  2. Do not run the pumps dry! If the water level is not proper the pumps will run dry and the jets will work intermitantly. The point at where the water level drops too will be the area you will be looking beyond the cabnet for the leak. If the water level dropped to where a jet is located you could be getting a leak from the Jet body itself from the back side of the shell. I bet the jetbody is cracked and needs to be replaced. Another common problem area is the light seal. What kind of hottub is this?
  3. Thanks for the great info and calculations. Now I know how to determine how much yardadge someone needs to pour a slab.
  4. 1) Along the base of the spa 2) Take panel off and look inside of the tub towards one of the corners (probably the front left) and you will see a clear tube with a 2-way small valve on the end of it to adapt a garden hose. Sometimes there are two drains.
  5. A) The drain is at the bottom base. The drain is located near the splice valve you just opened or near the corner of the spa behind the panel depending on the model. Happy Tubbing.
  6. Also, the cover was 1 yr old. Covers last about 5 years so even if you were totally liable for the cover I'd say you should only have to pay 80% since it wasn't new in the first place. Yeah but was he the one using it for the year? If you give him 150 for the casing and show him that's all he had to replace I'm sure he will accept that. If not than let him bring you to small claims court. lol
  7. The dealer can do it to be corteous and eat a little cost to carry them a little further. A good dealer would warrant the jets for at least 90 days.
  8. Screw it Go 8" with rebar and sleep better at night!
  9. How long has the dealer been around? How long have they been selling that line of spas for? Generally HS is a much better built spa in my opinion with alot more expertise. All Hot Spring Dealers I know have been around for a while and remain loyal to Watkins Mfg Corp. I wouldn't use 110v especially if you live in the upper North East. Both will be efficient in an extremely cold climate as they both use full foam, but the HS spa is more efficient I would imagine by the look of the guts in both spa's. If you live in the northeast Saratoga could get a spa to you faster than any other company.
  10. Looks like it was pulled from the flap before each use. The cover generally should creat a vacuum seal and takes some undoing to get that cover off. If you kept trying to pull it from the flap this could happen.
  11. Congratulations are your new Coleman 461! FWIW, MAAX IS the manufacturer/maker of Coleman Spas as well as Coleman California Cooperage spas. MAAX just has the permission to use the Coleman name. Also, two different brands can be made at the same plant but be different in features/functions, for instance Sundance and Jacuzzi. http://www.colemanspas.com/content/show/about/ MAAX also makes Elite Spas as well. http://www.maax.com/en/Products/BrandList....?CodeCategory=S MaaX bought the Coleman spa division in 2001. Coleman originally inhereted the California Cooperage back in 1985 I believe.
  12. I think Sand or Pearl will show the LED the most.
  13. Ask any manufacturer and specify a reverse fold! "Any Quality Manufacturer".
  14. Also is it 120v or 240v? If it is a 120v it is a 1.5kw heater. If it is a 240v it is a 5.5kw heater. Thanks for the good info! It is 240v, 5.5kw. Hey my pleasure that's what I'm here for. Cabernet is the Color of your spectrum series. That color was only manufacturered for 3 months and was discontinued for some reason. If you still have any problems just PM me
  15. Also is it 120v or 240v? If it is a 120v it is a 1.5kw heater. If it is a 240v it is a 5.5kw heater.
  16. We get our old replacement heaters for Coleman's 15 years or more from Horizon Spa and Pool parts inc., The phone number is: 18008747727 They might not sell to you but if you can either find a dealer in your area to link up with this supplier or contact me (PM) and I can order the replacement part for you. It might be benificial for someone from a local pool or spa dealer to use this phone number to call horizon because they have all types of other goodies for the oldies. Hope this helps you. Best Regards Brulan1 23 year Coleman dealer
  17. No it wouldn't be the other way around. Are you really trying to resurrect your sales pitch again that foam holds the hoses tight and they therefore will crack over time because they can't flex as much as a spa that uses just a little foam on the hoses? That is to the point of being funny. I know you believe in the thermopane system you sell and that's all fine but you really need to bury that "foam prevents the pipes from moving and they crack" sales theory. You have to remember I have 16 years experience with Coleman when they had full foam until they switched to TP. I experience 80percent less go backs with the TP system and alot less of warrany repairs. That's a fact!
  18. They failed here in Northern Minnesota miserably. The dealer may of been partialy to blame but the idea of less insulation to make a more effiecient tub didn't wash. It didn't take people long to figure out the heat source used inside this warm air cavity is gone for the majority of everyday when the unit is not filtering. And filtering more in the fridgid winters to maintain a heat source seemed stupid, uneffiecient, unneeded and caused undo wear on pumps. If 4 hours a day was required to keep clean water that left 20 hours with no heat source to maintain the r-factor required for minumal heat loss. And 20 hours with more heat loss than a comperable FF tub thus more pump and heater kicking on and off to maintain heat. I'm not saying that a properly insulated TP tub won't work, it will. Just not any better than a fully foamed tub. And it seems they get sold as being better and that is deceptive to anyone who knows a little bit about the whole picture, not just the concept of using pump motor heat to create a high R-Factor inside a cabinet air space. A well designed TP insulation has just as good of an insulation factor as a well designed FF insulation. The only difference is the accessability aspect but 90percent of repairs are made within the main compartment so it is all BS
  19. The reason is they are a low quality spa that is overpriced. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy your spa and have years of trouble free service. Mabye because you don't see to many problems with them?
  20. Cotsco's margins are very thin and hydrospa had to also thin there margins and cut corners.
  21. Wouldn't it be the other way around. The foam prevents the pipes from moving and eventually from not being able to move, they crack! right? I think it can go both ways. The best way to insulate a tub in my opinion is partial foaming over the pipe like MaaX spas does and the thermal tape and styrofoam along the inside walls and floor. I hate when there is foam over the jet bodies. There you have the best of both worlds. lol
  22. I would go with Cal spa because I like how their pumps are built with those new seals that don't leak and are warranted lifetime (7yrs. ny state). I like the quality of the shell more so than dynasty. Also dynasty dealers are notorious for charging you service calls after 2 yrs. despite 5 yr. warranty. Another words alot of dynasty dealers pro-rate there hot tubs. The seating in my opinion is more compfortable on a cal spa than dynasty. The dynasty's 7 hp pumps will blow you out of the spa too.
  23. Don't compare a car to a spa. lol Home depot doesn't sell coleman, we put a stop to that really fast. Also, are you having fun putting your jets back in that pop out of that cub every day? lol You sound like your angry at your spa or something. lol
