  1. Still enjoying the Cape Cod. I am on here looking for pool information and thought I would update my old posts on the Cape Cod. I don't use it as often but I still love it. Especially in those cooler months of the year. The only thing that needs to be replaced now is the head rests. They are bubbling up. I can still use them but do not like the looks of them. I have just taken them out of the tub and it looks fine. Still Lovin it!
  2. Looks Great! I love the patio. Looks like a great tub too. Enjoy!
  3. I use bromine not chlorine anyway. I may try it since I am ready to change the water. Thanks!
  4. I bought a 10 pound bag of Dead Sea Salts to use in the Aqua Glass whirlpool tub in the house. I was wondering if I could use them in the spa. They are actually dead sea salts, no additives, no perfumes, etc. I know that the place I buy them from sells 30 and 50 lb bags. I thought that they use them in commercial spas but I wasn't sure so I have not tried it in our tub. From what I am reading here it would take at least a half a bag to make a difference in the water. I don't use very much in the large tub inside. I have psorasis and it helps if I soak in the dead sea salt water some times.
  5. Here is a picture of our setup. It is close to the master bedroom door. It is perfect for us to get in and out quickly and in the house if the need be. We usually go in without suits so a quick get away has been needed a few times. We live pretty far out and have a 600 foot drive way. We usually know when someone is coming up the drive because of the dog. But he has let us down a few times. Ha! Ha! Sorry the picture doesn't show up very well. I cannot get it to post bigger.
  6. It is now November 2007 and we still love our tub. I don't seem to get in but about 3 times a week now. It was everyday at first. I am glad that we made the purchase. Sometimes I think everyone is to critical and it scares people from buying one. I know I looked for a year and was afraid that I would buy the wrong one by all the posts on this forum and others. I could not afford $10,000 for one. Anyway, I just wanted to upadate and say we still love it. We have not had any problems with it. I did have a hard time at first keeping the water clear. I drained it and started over and it is now time for another refill. The water still looks great but it has been 7 months since the change. So, I will be changing the water this weekend for the prime soaking months ahead. Still loving it!
  7. Thanks I thought Armorall was a bad choice. I have plenty of armorall and was tempted but I thought I better ask first. I will be out this weekend to pick up some 303. Thanks again
  8. I bought a spa back in March 2007 and I have not cleaned the cover yet. Is there something that is great to use and to keep the vinyl in good shape longer? Thanks, Linda
  9. Great to see pictures. I remember wanting to see pictures when we were setting ours up. It gives everyone great ideas. They all look great. Makes me want to go home and get in mine now!!
  10. I have been to Dematologists all my life. The diagnosis is always psorasis or chronic eczema. The patch had been there for over 5 years and now it is gone. I have had it around the waistband area in the past and it is gone now. Maybe it just left on its own like the part around the waistband. But, I am sure it is not an infection. Just wondering how it affects everyone else. Thanks, Linda
  11. I have noticed that a large patch of psorasis on my back has disappeared since I started using the spa in March 2007. Has anyone else noticed an improvement in skin conditions from using the spa? I am using the Bromine tablets for a sanitizer and the spa frog was put in 3 weeks ago after a water refill. I was planning on changing to Cholrine at a later time but now I think I will stay with the Bromine since I have seen such an improvement in my skin condition. I have the Psorasis on my scalp also. It has been tempting to put my head under but I have decided that it may cause ear infections if I do that.
  12. What I am getting from this is that the frog is not worth the $'s. I am glad I did not buy from the local dealer at $32 a cartridge. I bought online for $18. I will put it in when I change the water and not expect a great improvement in water quality. I figure that a lot of the products out there are not needed to keep the water up. I used to care for a above ground pool so I have an idea on water care but this is the first time for a spa. I want to keep the water safe at the lowest price of course. But, I will spend more if I need to. I am sure everyone else has the same goals. Thanks for all the discussion on this topic. Linda
  13. Thanks, I am using Bromine so that is why I chose the frog. I can't find a lot of info on it. I know that a few pool places around here sell the floating system but the people in the store know very little about it. I just wonder if it is worth the trouble to get one every fill or not. I guess I will find out!
  14. I have a co worker who has a Dimension One and she said that her filter had a band around it and when the band breaks it is time to replace at $68. I just bought an extra filter for mine to switch back and forth for $31. I saw online I could have bought it for $18. I have soaked mine and ran it thru the diswasher for the next switch. But it is taking forever for the filter to dry. Very humid and rainy here right now. I may have to soak it again and run it thru the diswasher once more before I use it again. How does everyone else clean their filter?
  15. I bought the spa frog. I have not put it in yet because it is almost time to change the water and the spa frog says not to reuse after it is wet even if it seems to still have product in it. Has anyone else used this product?
  16. I don' t believe you are supposed to drain it. Is your tub still under warranty? The warranty is void (from my understanding) when you drain it and leave it empty. I would make sure the warranty would still be valid before I drained it and left it empty. If it were me I would turn the temp way down and just check the water every 2 weeks to make sure it is okay and leave the circulation pump going. I am sure there are others on here with more experience that should help out.
  17. It did drop at first. It took a few days to get the ph to stay in the normal range. It has been doing great for the last 3 weeks. We do get in it everyday. So, I check the water everyday. I have shocked it about 2 times a week, depending on how many people were in it. I keep reading on the spa frog and I am not sure it would be beneficial. Sometimes I think we tend to buy everything and we don't need it. So, I am just checking to see if I really need to use something else.
  18. I am new to the spa water care. I have read that the spa frog works with the bromine tablets. I am using bromine tablets and the mps shock. I have not had any problems yet except for a few bubbles (only when we wear suits in the tub). This is going on the 4th week I have had the spa. I am wondering if I should get the spa frog or just keep doing what I am doing? I check the water everyday and it has been pretty stable (low on bromine a few times, just added more tablets). I think I should have went with chlorine but I didn't. Someone had suggested the bromine due to skin problems, so that is what I went with. Any suggestions or ideas on the spa frog? A pool dealer strongly advised against it because of the metals it puts in the water. She suggested that it would cause cancer. I haven't been able to find any information on the spa frog good or bad. I did see that Nature 2 can not be used with bromine. The local spa pool chemical supply place told me to use Nature 2 because that is what they had. I can't seem to get good answers from the local guys.
  19. I just cleaned my filter for the first time. Our water pressure is awful. So, I spent at least 10 minutes trying to get in the pleats. This diswasher idea sounds great. I will be trying it out in a few weeks. Thanks for this great information.
  20. I can't take the temp over 98 in mine. I probably need another thermometer to check it. I can not imagine 106-107. I think it would boil me!! If everyone keeps theirs at 104 no wonder you guys only get in for 15 minutes. I stay in at least 30 minutes and enjoy the soak.
  21. I bought a Down East Cape Cod for $4,632.00 out the door delivered and installed. I am happy with it. It has a waterfall, neck jets, cool down seat. Master blaster for the feet several theraputic jets. The best deal I could find in my area.
  22. I bought the tub and have it installed and it is great! I am glad I made the purchase.
  23. what kind of repairs? Pump, leaks, etc. I really liked the tub. I tested one with a lounger and did not care for the lounger in the Legend Series. I want a waterfall. neck jets, foot massage jets, and a good value. I stopeed at the Dynasty dealer after the Down East Soak. Dynsasty was reeling me in until I started asking questions. I am surprised that neither dealer(down east or dynasty) could answer my questions. Dynasty was a little better but I didn't like their answers. I was comparing the down east cpae code to the Teton. The teton only has one pump. It was not a good comparison to the Cape cod in my opinion. they didn't have any others in the $5000 range. Any help is appreciated.
  24. Apparently, there is no one out there with a Down East spa. That is okay I will go to another forum. Thanks anyway!
