  1. If you absolutely must know I am a substitute teacher, I teach English to middle school students and have no affiliation with Waterworld other than that of a customer. Perhaps I have been a bit more zealous in posting than other people but that is simply my nature and something you will continue to see in the future.
  2. If this were a forum for the discussion of day care then naturally I would expect parents to be talking about the different day cares that they send their children to and why they like or dislike a particular school with a great deal of enthusiasm . However this forum is specifically about in-ground fiberglass swimming pools and as such it should not be a surprise to find individuals such as myself that have a favorite manufacture and are delighted to tell others of their positive experiences. I didn’t see any post from you concerning individuals who posted bad or unsatisfactory experiences so I must conclude that a positive testimonial somehow insults your sensibilities. For whatever reason if you find the necessity to ask someone if they are shillaber then perhaps you should avoid any type of discussion forum in the future.
  3. To earn extra income I have a side business of buying and selling homes. Over the past few years I have bought two fiberglass pools and I am now in the process of buying a third. I like fiberglass because it is easy to maintain, cost less that other types of pools, and extremely durable. Like most people I had concerns with pools popping out of the ground, gel-coat cracking, and pool resurfacing. I considered San Juan but then I would have had to go through a dealer and hire a reputable contractor to get it installed. I can’t tell you how many so called reputable contractors I have had in the past who did shoddy work and one unforgettable experience of a contractor who demanded half payment for the job in advance and never doing any work at all. Waterworld only sell through a few well trusted dealers but for the most part they sell and install their own product. Any fiberglass pool manufacture will tell you that they provide a high quality product and that problems with their product come from bad installations. The problem with contractors is that the manufacturer is responsible for correcting probles due to poor workmanship as well as any possible defects in the pool itself. Waterworld ran into some serious problems a few years ago because of a few shady contractors and since then have done their own installations. So right off of the bat you know the work will be done right. If you are concerned about quality as I am you can’t go wrong with them either. The pictures at their website show how nice the pools look in the ground but don’t show that these pools are half an inch thick, which makes them practically bulletproof. And talk about variety, they have a pool size, shape and color to match almost any theme, they just added blue and various shades of marble. I bought my pools from Waterworld and have no regrets.
  4. Yes, and my advise is to check out Waterworld their in Haminton NJ. They have great pools at good prices and do their own installation.
  5. Try CLR it won't harm the gelcoat, and no pressure washing won't harm the pool but draining it might.
  6. Yes, but you need to consider how much space you have to set up the crane, the distance from that point to where you are putting the pool, and the weight of the pool when decinding what size crane you will need. All crane companies are aware of their cranes capabilities so have this information avaible when calling.
  7. Check out WaterWorld Pools they install all over the east coast. www.waterworldpools.com
  8. I looked at the WaterWorld website (http://www.waterworldpools.com/pool_types.html) it looks as if the pool your looking for is around $15,000. Looks to me that they would be your best bet to stay near your budget. I buy and sell houses as a side busness, have bought two pools from them in the past, and am in the process of buying my third. I highly recomend them.
  9. What you should know about Waterworld Several years ago Waterworld sold their pools exclusively to dealers. These dealers were responsible for installing the pools and often did a very poor job of it. Waterworld being the manufacturer was and still is responsible for correcting the problems with these pools. This put the company into fanatical distress and they filed for bankruptcy. Since that time however, they have changed the way they do business, they now install 98% of their pools themselves and have corrected all of the problems that resulted from the poor installations that were done before. They have also recovered from their fanatical problems and will be around for a very long time. I highly recommend them.

  11. For the stain try LCR cleaner, it won't harm the gelcoat.
  12. Yes Waterworld pools is still in business, yes they did file for bankrupts, no the wartimes are not void. The problem that Waterworld had was prior to 2003 they sold pools exclusively to dealers who installed the pools. These dealers did a shoddy job installing the pools and the manufacture was and still is responsible for the warrantees. The have since corrected the problems with all of the pools that were sold and installed by their dealers and now almost exclusively install their pools themselves. Their pools are of the highest quality and I recommend them to anyone considering a new pool.
  13. I don’t find it strange at all that different manufacturers offer different warranties on the same product. It is simply a matter of sales strategy and regional water quality. Gel coats are subjected to various chemicals and some owners can put some very strange and potently harmful chemicals into the water to try and balance the waters chemistry. You can be sure that the manufacturer that has the 1 year warrantee sells to more regions and has a shorter warrantee as chemical variation used will be very broad. Waterworld has the largest selection at the best prices and the highest customer satisfaction rating in the industry. I challenge anyone to prove differently.
