  1. Spa Marvel enzymes must be doing something to affect the bacteria and other waste in the water. We have Spa Marvel in our hot tubs at the cottage and at our home. Not long after using our hot tub at home we headed up to the cottage for almost 2 months. When we returned home the water in our hot tub was still perfectly clear. In the past when we did not have Spa Marvel in the tub, after 2 months at the cottage the water in the tub would be cloudy and smelly. I've tried several different enzyme based products on the market and Spa Marvel has been the best performer for us. We no longer have any cloudy water issues, smelly water, etc...At first we were skeptical so we purchased bacteria test kits to test the water. Even after using the hot tub everyday for an entire week we found no trace of bacteria. Now from what I understand, Spa Marvel cannot be considered a sanitizer because its not registered and probably does not eliminate bacteria as fast as chlorine or bromine. But it does keep our water clean and as long as its just my family and close friends using the hot tub I am content just having Spa Marvel in it. If my kids have a party and 20 of their friends are using the hot tub, I tend to add some chlorine just make sure. Since we started using Spa Marvel, we have not had any pH/Alkalinity issues to deal with and we have not had to use any defoamers, descalers, and clarifiers. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid sitting in chemicals.
  2. From what I understand, Aquafinesse enzymes keep the water clean, but a sanitizer is still required to control bacteria. Aquafinesse seems to do the same thing that Spa Marvel does but Spa Marvel is one third the price and will last longer than Aquafinesse. I think I saw Aquafinnesse going for $150 whereas Spa Marvel is $49.95 for a 3 month treatment.
  3. If its just me and my wife using the the tub we don't bother using any chlorine and the water stays good for several months. So far the longest time period with just one treatment has been 5 months (although if you go to the Spa Marvel website they recommend one treatment every 3 months). If we have a bunch of friends over for a hot tub party, we sometimes will use some chlorine.
  4. I think you should look at spasolutionbc.com. Ive been using it for 5 years and it works. Look up the website, call the guy and talk to him. I do not use chemicals in my tub because of that stuff, and everything is fine. I'll never use anything else. I tried it out. Spa Marvel works better for us. Its also costs less. Its listed on their website www.spamarvel.com for $49.95 and they ship it to me for free.

  6. We have had a lot of success with Spa Marvel (www.spamarvel.com). You pour 1 bottle in every 3 months. Its an all natural product and my wife no longer gets a rash when she uses the hot tub. You are probably getting the rash from one of the chemicals you are using.
  7. Have you looked at using Spa Marvel. Its an enzyme based solution for spas that greatly reduces the need for chemicals. I was unable to use my hot tub for 8 months because of the rashes I was getting from the chemicals. Since I started using Spa Marvel I no longer get rashes. We buy it at our local Home Hardware but I am not sure if its available where you live. You can always check out their website to see if they sell direct. www.spamarvel.com
