  1. Hello, Rob - congratulations on your free spa! It sounds as thought the actual jets are missing. We are a manufacturer and don't sell direct to the public. If you don't have a local Arctic Spas dealer, please contact service@goarctic.com to ask about how to order parts. Please have the serial number handy (you'll find it on the original sales invoice if you got a copy, and on a small metal plate at the bottom of one side of the spa). Happy hot tubbing Tom
  2. Budge, Please PM me with the following details and I will look into this for you. Name of dealer Serial number of spa (should be on your sales invoice) Name of purchaser per sales invoice Tom
  3. Here is some information in our newsletter. Some of this will apply to any brand of hot tub.
  4. According to our warranty department, this is a software report code. Please contact your dealer for service.
  5. Arctic Spas has agreed to purchase MAAX Spas. This will include the Coleman, Elite, Nahanni, and California Cooperage lines. Please read http://www.arcticspas.com/index.php/en/custom_news/69/96/ for more details.
  6. No firm date, Ace. Last R&D report I saw said "2009" but it depends on the government approving the application. Governments, like snails, tend to proceed slowly. I expect that when it does come out it will be available for retrofit to existing Onzen units, but I have no official confirmation from R&D so treat that as an unfounded rumour, okay?
  7. Having to scroll past a long quote-quote-quote makes for hard reading. New members are invited to study the Forum Etiquette and review #7 about editing quotes. Thank you.
  8. Thanks, Strannik -- sometimes I all I have to go on is our own marketing materials. Our electrodes are coated with Ruthenium, I'm told. Purchasing guys are all busy right now or I'd know who our supplier is...
  9. You'll find some basic information about salt system at the Genesis site (ww.spapurification.com). I think they do a pretty good job of explaining. I can't speak to the other systems, but can tell you a bit about ours. The Arctic Onzen system can use either sodium bromide or sodium chloride (sea salt) and has a titanium electrode, which apparently is superior to other electrodes (don't ask me how, I don't know). The system also uses both UV and CD for ozone generation (new process, patent pending, so I'm told). The US version also generates silver ions for additional sanitization. The system generates chlorine/bromine and silver ions 24/7 with ozone during the filter cycles. A digital water tester is included for "easy accurate measurements". We don't claim that this provides totally automated water care, and some user maintenance is still required. There is additional information on our web site and in our newsletter

  11. Thank you for purchasing our product. I'm sorry to hear that you are having this issue. We do honor our warranty and I'll do my best to help you. I see that you've sent additional information in a PM so please give me a chance to contact your dealer and investigate. If you have also emailed the company, that email will also come to me. I ask your patience as I look into this. Thanks Tom
  12. Hi, DC98 Thank you for choosing an Arctic Spa! Our owner manual p. 17 says, "If the spa is equipped with Northern Lights or Northern Lights Deluxe, the different lighting sequences can be cycled by pressing the light key on and off repeatedly." This is may not be entirely clear. It is important that you press the key fairly rapidly to cycle the modes. Once you find the mode you want, leave the setting and it will be stored in memory and will come up the next time you turn on the lights. If you wait more than two seconds between key presses, the second press will turn the lights off, so that it appears only one mode is working. I apologize for any confusion you may have experienced and hope that these directions help you enjoy your Northern Lights.
  13. Both are Canadian made spas, and both companies have been recognized as being among Canada's 50 Best Managed. The Alberta Research Council tested a Coast Lanai and an Arctic Kodiak. You can find the summary on our web site, but briefly with air temp at 20Cand water at 40C, the Lanai used 352W/h compared to 175W/h for the Kodiaks. The Lanai is a larger spa and when you adjust for volume the difference doesn't look so large, being 205 W/m3/h and 115 W/m3/h respectively. At -12C air temp, the figures were 824W/h Lanai vs 417 W/h Kodiak or 472 W/m3/h vs 292W/m3/h adjusted. How much you can generalize from that one specific test is an open question, and there are those who argue that the volume is irrelevant (though the CEC says it is relevant). I think their products may offer a bit more 'bling' than ours do but I think ours are more energy-efficient and better built. But I am a corporate spokesman and I am paid to be biased so you maybe shoudn't listen to me.
  14. We have a machine on our production floor that does just that. Vacuum hoses are attached at specified points. The machine grabs the spa, picks it up, and rotates it. No shaking, though. And yes, I think you're kidding, Roger.
  15. Feedback like this is invaluable to us in planning future revisions or new designs. The Tundra is an award-winning design (2003 Autodesk International Design Award) but clearly missed the mark for you. I'd appreciate a PM with some further details.
  16. The Onzen system has a 2 year warranty. Due to high demand (90% of spas ordered request Onzen), we have had to use parts slated for retrofit to meet production requirements. I regret to announce that we do not have a date for the retrofit kits. Late summer or early fall looks like the earliest time these kits may be available to retrofit to older Arctic Spas.
  17. Pick it up over your head and shake it so all the water comes out!! LOL. Roger, behave. From the FAQ on the Arctic Spas site (always a good place to check!) How do I winterize my Arctic Spa? You can also download an owners manual from www.arcticspas.com which will contain information that may be more specific to your model year.
  18. According to the CAD diagram, the footwell depth is just under 33" from the lip (plus a 3" windlip), and 30" from the recommended water fill line. They're both good, but Peak has a higher output and is a beefier system. Onzen has an ozone output close to the Peak system and adds the saline and silver ion sanitation. The warranty is for 2 years. Please have your dealer contact me and I will provide whatever additional information he requires. Some people like getting 'cutting edge' technology while others prefer a 'wait and see' approach. You have to do what is most comfortable for you. I will provide further information about Onzen in a PM.
  19. There is quite a difference between the Tundra and the Summit. If you're looking at 2007 models, the Tundra is deeper by 3"*. It has been a favorite for taller users since its introduction in 2003, and won an Autodesk International Design Award. For 2008, the Summit seats have been widened and deepened. With more room for water to flow around your body, this might reduce your tendency to float. Both models will have the new above-water neck/shoulder jets and optional Onzen sanitation system for 2008. If you have a chance, try a Kodiak, another favorite for taller folks. It has a larger footwell than the Summit, and more open seating, including a lounger, which some people like. I suspect that if you float in the Summit with its contoured seats and armrests, you might float in the deeper spas of any brand. This is why we advise a wet test whenever possible. Happy spa hunting Tom * Per the 2007 product release sheet, thought I see in the 2007 brochure that both are 39" deep.
  20. I've encountered repeated errors, dropouts, and slow loads today and over the past week. Managing posts and threads has been distressingly slow. I notified Dave the Owner yesterday (or was it just this morning? Time seems to be dragging) with no reply -- but give him time.... the message probably hasn't reached him yet. "Little Miss Moderator" Crystal seems to have dropped off the face of the earth and no longer responds to PMs. Too bad, I thought she was a sweetie. Jim_the_Jim no longer considers me the "only honest moderator" on this site and has banned me from his. Things are just going all to heck!
  21. Interesting premise. I haven't been in the industry during a prior recession. I would think that expanding your product line to include new models that are lower in price makes sense as it offers people an affordable alternative. When times improve, people will trade up. Might be a bit premature to say as far as the topic spas are concerned. Is there any historical evidence for this conclusion?
  22. Here's the Sundance Warranty just to balance things out.
  23. QUOTE(Dennis B @ Apr 14 2008, 10:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi, This question is probably directed at Tom from Arctic. I had answered this in a PM and didn't realize there was also a public post. Thanks for catching this one, Water Boy.
  24. My apologies. I attempted to merge two identical threads but this action seems to have truncated all but the first two posts of each.
  25. I'll assume that's me. Thanks for the update, glad to help.
