Funny. Agree with the wet test. We did the sundance Hartford and beachcomber 380. I ended up with the beachcomber. Wet test confirmed it for me. I upgraded the motor on the 380 to 4.5 ( although I found the 3.5 fine) and did their 5 year guarantee. Sundance was way more powerful but bc entry steps, guarantee, power use claims, foot massager, uv lite, over all seating capacity and I interior size and dealer staff won me over. I did pay more for the bc but not too much for what I got. Just ordered it today. I found the sundAnce just too powerful , my back was numb in minutes. That plus cruddy foot jets, cheapee pillows, more expensive op costs with all the filters (that take up an entire seat) plus no stairs/cooling steps, limited warranty and no option to upgrade the warranty unless I paid 1k more for the chelsea model - turned me off. Each to their own. Optima was a looker tho too rich for my blood.

It's important for you to know that Ozone (O2) in either UV (ultra violet) or CD (corona discharge) is nothing more than a supplement to a proper sanitation regimen. Will it reduce the amount of sanitizer you use? Sure. But will you be able to measure the reduction, probably not. In between additions of sanitizer it will help to keep your water clean but can never be relied on to clean your water. Does that make sence? I like BC and put them in my top 3 no matter how kooky the owner is....LOL I like BC better. Sundance makes a fine product but they are a little bit to propietary for me. Seems there parts and stuff are harder to get than a lot of others.

Hi all. About to pull the trigger on a bc or sundance. Would like advice on ozinator. Sundance dealer says it will help my water chemistry aNd reduce the need for as much chemical but also mean I do not have to check the water and add some lithium daily. Bc says ozinator is old tech and a danger to my health (seems a little drastic). Would like a few opinions on the realities. If I go bc, is the uv light sanitation a must? If I go sundance is the ozinator a must. Also important to understand if either of these two things will kill me lol. Uv is 700. Ozinator is 250. I'm stuck on one of these 2. Also open to commentary on what's the better quality tub. It's bc380 vs sundance hartford 680.

After spending alot of time with the local sundance dealer I am leaning toward it. It's cheaper than beachcomber and in the end just has alot more going for it. I am comparing bc380 to sundance Hartford 680. Sundance has 42 jets vs 23, 2 motors vs one, akin to bc hush pump, it has a circ pump and ozinator where bc was uv ready but 500 more for the unit. Plus sundance warranty while somewhat less comprehensive is better on the big stuff (3 year vs 2). I'm not married to 2 pumps but hey, why not. Also a client walked in (sundance client) and I talked to him. He stated he has had nothing go wrong with his 6 yearold haRtford ( like) tub. Electricity average to $40 per mth but his operates the second pump to turn the water (no circ pimp) so I would think mine with circ would be cheaper to operate and with ozinator chemicals were 300 per year. Replacement filters and cartridges were a good bit more than bc but that's the whole sundance extreme water purification deal. Bu bc does have those awesome steps! Wet test is next. Acrylic process with sundance seems better (3 layers vs 2 with bc). One thing tho, sundance cabinet and wood structure is only 1 year vs bc 2 but may take a chance. Sales rep tells me the wood structure and cabinet on their next up line (780 chelsee model) is the same as 680 Hartford but 780 trim level carries 5 year on these items. We'll see what the wet test brings.

yes , it was annoying...think we saw you there at both places actually...wife just had a baby so will not wet test...i will tho, part of the process...she says i have to bring her sister....

Hi All Interesting reads on this site. Trying to find some clear answers. Built my yard last year for a max 89x89 tub (deck encloses 3 sides - deck is 24 inches high). checked out artic, jucuzzi, sunrise, bc and sundance. big factors for me are: - size - since tub sizes are edge of acrylic to edge, panel wall dims are a couple more inches inside of the acrylic edge - i want a tub to fill the deck hole as closely as possible to save accidents (small kids) and for asthetics - large cooling steps - wife likes the idea for her and kids, i do too for easier entrance, deck is 24 inches high, most tubs are 36+ - warranty - over all size for seating (family of 5, and my 3 kids will only get bigger), more open area tub than cockpit style - operating cost - chemicals aside, energy costs, regular maintence items budget - max $8500 all in so far: -Jucuzzi sizing is at best 84x84, so i have to fill spaces around my deck -Arctic - too cockpit, no real steps, 84x84, heard of leak issues b/c they do not use insulation for structure -Sunrise - seems little info out there on them, 84x84, 1 off from dealer and wrong colours so...its come down to bc 380 or sundance hartford 680 - both the right size but there is a $1000 delta - sundance is $1000 cheaper, has 2 pumps + circ, 42 jets, more jets and seems to have a better filtration model. bc is 23 jets (stainless), one pump+hush, and its 3.5 hp main, but has a more accomodating interior footprint - big wide steps for cooling would fit all 3 kids on the first one easily. sundance has no steps, thats a downer for us. read jeff in whitby's post...if the sundance 880's 2 motors are way more powerful than the bc 750's 2 motors...then i will likely see a large difference b/t the power of the sundance hartford 680 with 2 pumps vs the bc 380 single 3.5 hp pump. this, alomng with price and its size (footprint in deck) is largely why i am looking closer at the sundance. as well, the bc warranty is 2 year everything, 5 year shell and lifetime contruction....sundance seems better, 3 year all moving parts, 5 year leak/shell. i like the bc dealer better. sundance dealer really bad mouthed bc dealer. i'd appreciate any opinions b/t the two tubs - general quality - performance - filtration (not going with uv bulb or ozone) - maint costs - energy costs - insulation (bc says icyline foam vs sundance open and closed cell foam) - comments on leak frequency - warranty thanks folks.
