  1. If you have a chance to look at Barrier Reef Pools, they build a very sturdy pool so much so that a spreader bar is not needed to lift into position, they have a 15 year warranty on their finish and a lifetime warranty on the pools. The color is VERY beautiful - the best I've seen and the report I looked at from the testing company (provided by manufacturer) showed theirs performed the best out of all other finishes available. I would definitely check them out. I too live in NW Ohio and looked at Viking Blue Haw. S/J and choose Barrier Reef. The have been building color fiberglass pools since 1984. I agree with the person who stated it is VERY important to pick the right installer. Bandontherun, I like seeing you here on the forums and appreciate your passion for BR. As you already know, I think they make a good pool as well. But I also think it's important that you show all your cards on here and fill out your profile---Name, company, etc... Transparency is the best approach when discussing manufacturers on forms.
  2. To begin with congratulations on your pool purchasing decision. That's fantastic. It sounds like the project will be one that when finished will bring years of enjoyment. I would have to tell you we are fiberglass experts and if you are looking for a low maintenance, lower long term yearly operating costs, select a fiberglass pool. They have chemically inert finishes that are non-porous. As far as the equipment is concerned, I have used Pentair on projects with great success - not much experience with Jandy. I can put you in touch with an authorized Barrier Reef Pools dealer in your area if you so choose. Fiberglass work especially great in this application.
  3. What type of pool are you interested in installing it the old pools place?
  4. Sorry to step in but if you are still looking for a pool, send me your contact info and general location and I will have someone in contact with you today representing Barrier Reef Pools. Barrier Reef is alive and well and going strong.
  5. Well the poster obviously has no idea what he is talking about maybe getting facts to post instead of hearsay would serve them better. Barrier Reef not only are they still in business, they managed over the last 18 months, open a 50,000 square foot plant in SC along I-20 near Florence but also built 10 new molds, expanded their dealer base, opened 2 new distribution centers and established some very good relationships with leaders and pioneers in the pool business. If you're still in the market for a QUALITY fiberglass pool let me know, I will gladly help.
