  1. I thought it would only be fair for me to write a possitive message after my inital message filled with frustration. After my initial posting in here regarding some issues with the onzen reliabilty and overall tub chemistry I must say that James has stepped up to the plate and is making every effort to help resolve the issues that I've been exeriencing. They are clearly passionate about their customers and want each of us to enjoy the tub as they were designed to remove stress and frustration, not add to it. Thanks James, I really do appreciate the personal communciation and sorting this all out. I still love my 08 Arctic spa!
  2. thanks guys...appreciate the feedback...working on a resolution with James...thank goodness they are here to help and listen.
  3. I appreciate the lesson in chemistry...it was a decent read. However....the arctic onzen systems boast about not needing any "tablets" or "pucks". Its suppose to be a very low maintenance tub with little to no chemicals. After reading this i understand some of the chemistry but still think there is an issue with production of bromine as that is what the onzen system is suppose to be doing in conjunction with the ozone production and salt water. I thought i understood how arctic salt/bromine tubs worked but maybe i'm confused, i should hear tomorrow from James so that will be good.
  4. James thanks for the response I appreciate it and am glad to see the manufacturer cares about its customers.
  5. Dano, I suggest you reach out to James on here...he has replied to a few posts...he works for the manufacturer and may have a better answer for you. Several of us have a very bitter taste so far but if they have managed to fix/resolve the issue in newer builds you are set and correct that the salt system should be the way to go. I think every "system" or tub will have its issues...for me its service and response really.
  6. Arlene, I'm with ya!!! This is not a self maintaining tub...this is not a cost effective tub...this has been a very brutal experience and i sure hope Arctic hears this. I'm tempted to put a complaint into BBB, purely for the quality of the product they are selling.
  7. Utterly frustrated with ARCTIC!!!!! I like many in this post have HAD it!!!! I bought my 15,000 hot tub last year from Arctic...we did our research and determined that Arctic was one of the best in quality and service...boy were we wrong! We had the FLO message right from the start...that got fixed and we were initially impressed with the quick service to get that done. But the message came back and another service call had to be made to clear the FLO message and replace pump 1 again. So that is the least of my issues Onzen and sanitization has been unacceptable to say the least. I have had probably 3-4 service calls to replace, retro fit, re-plum my hot tub. Once again we had the retro kit done about 5-6wks ago now...but hey guess what, no more smoke...WTF!!!! No bromine reading anymore...water is now cloudy...this sucks!!! Arctic if you are listening you have a extremely frustrated customer. I've emailed every one i possibly could a while back and had the retro done quickly because of my stink but now...i'm pissed! BTW...service folks in Oakville the number we dial for help...brutal! some girl answers and repeats everything to the service manager, you all know his name, and he gives her a possible solution to which i can hear the conversation and already have my answer for them before she finished talking....let me talk to him or is he not into dealing with customers who are experiencing issues! Another BTW...the guy they send out for service calls...he's AMAZING!!! If anyone from Arctic is reading...you may want to keep your customers happy...there will be no repeat business and hell no to referrals...that is not good for Arctic. OK done my rant...will give it to the sales folks tomorrow in the KW store when i get my water tested.
