  1. Just to show my ignorance on the subject, I thought the ozonator ran all the time. Apparently not. How much does it run per day. If the HotSpring unit is that much better then why hasn't the other tubs jumped on the band wagon also. Personally I'd pay more to get a unit that was going to last twice as long. In the long run it would seem to definitely be worth the extra money.
  2. I've read enough to know that an ozonator is considered by most to be a plus to a hot tub but how can you tell when it goes bad? What is the usual lifespan of a cd ozonator? I know with the uv you can see the little blue light.
  3. And I told him so.. lol Along with a handful of other politicans. I once made the offer to a gubertorial candidate to let me have 5 minutes of their time to talk with privately. If he could convince me of his sincerey and honesty I'd work his campaign dutifully for free. I didn't get the 5 minues.
  4. This in NOT a blast at all spa salespeople But I guess I ran into one today and it will probably cost me a couple of thousand dollars extra. I stopped by today to buy a spa. I had talked to one salesperson a couple of weeks ago, comparison shopped and then decided to go back and get the one I felt most comfortable with. I went back on Monday and was waited on by the store owner, he and I chatted, I told him that I had talked to his other salesman and decided that his brand of tub was what I wanted. He was very laid back, not a great lot of pressure and gave me some prices. I told him to give me a day or 2 to think about it. Then the offer was made, I'm in a saleing mood, make me an offer. I told him that I'd give him a call and left. Went back today and got the orginal salesman, we chatted I told him that the owner had told me to make him an offer so I did. We split the difference, did the paperwork, I gave him 25% cash deposit and left. Less than 3 minutes later my phone rang, it was the salesman, said the owner had told him that I had to pay for the tub in full and that he had not told me to make him an offer. Kinda ticked me off, I don't like being called a liar. Being real nice I told the salesman I'd be right back. I apologized that I had gotten him in the middle of something that he could have his paperwork back and I'd take my check. I hated that he lost his commision but I feel that I was lied to by the owner by the fact of ommision. Had I known that I was going to have to pay cash, I could have made those arrangements. Now, just because I hate being lied to, I will go and purchase the tub someplace else. May be a different brand, may not. Like I said, this is NOT a blast at all salespeople or owners, just a friendly rant to all store owners and salespeople. Be totally honest and upfront with your customers, you may run into some smart a$$ customer like me that will pay more to by from someone that doesn't lie to me. PS. If you live in the Charlotte NC area and have bought a spa in the last couple of years how about pming me and let me know if you'd go back to the people that you bought from. I don't want company names appearing here just to keep within the TOS. Thanks
  5. Here's one from someone that doesn't own a spa yet and is getting ready to buy. I've been researching all I could about spas, manufacturers, methods of insulation, etc for about a month and I have asked lot of questions both on this forum and others. I wanted to take all the info that the salesman that had a reason to yank my chain and talk to sales people that didn't give a hoot about who I am because they know I'm not going to buy from them simply because we don't live within 500 miles of each other. I have picked up some excellent information and also seen some of the most off the wall, heated bs threads that I have ever seen. I used to think Quatum Physics was complicated, then I discovered SPAS. Shoot, let me do something simple like re-engineer the human brain, solve world hunger problems, bring peace to earth and good will toward man. (Fa la la la la), but please don't ask me what is the best way to insulate a hot tub. For the ones that have patiently answered my stupid questions with sincerity, I am most appreciative of your efforts. For a couple that have given me bull answers or just the standard "do a search" line. If I ever do happen to meet you in real life, please, just ignore me. I'm gonna make an offer on a tub tomorrow morning and if the salesman I'll be talking to monitors this board or reads this, don't try to yank my chain, I know where you work. Or as we say in east Tennessee, Don't make me mad, one of us is gonna take and old fashioned a$$ whoppin. Thanks everyone.
  6. lol.. Bill Cosby is having trouble finding work as a comedian and here you are trying to break into the field.
  7. Thanks Chris. That's the correct models. I eyeballed them yesterday. The new models are coming in and he's wanting to clear out the old models.
  8. No, these are new, floor closeouts. Full warranty, new filters etc.
  9. Does anyone know where I can find the MSRP on the Sundance Bahia or Marin? I've searched all over but can't find a thing. I was offered the Bahia for 5000 or the Marin for 4400. Finding cost for them are harding than finding an honest politican. Could someone offer some help other than the standard, "Do a search"? thanks
  10. Absolutely hilarious, as good as the Jib-Jab's that were done on the presidential race.
