  1. After much frustration, Arctic Glacier is delivered, placed, wired, salted, running, and heating to temp. I am tired and broke. Dealer and I are still on speaking terms and no one got too out of joint on this deal. I am Happy? not really. I am I satisfied? I suppose I am. The bottom line is I got the tub I wanted and I am looking forward to LESS stress around the whole thing. I am sure things will come up and I will need dealer/tech support in the future. I feel that no bridges have been burnt here and I will be able to call these guys when I may need them. Man, this was way more than I bargained for but I am in the "SPA GAME" and will be so all steam ahead!!!!!!!

  2. Tub is up and running!! 4 hrs to temp and then.......... Well lets say I need a soak after these last 3 days, 2 months, etc.

Anyway, on to the reason I got a tub!! Lets hope the worst is behind me and the future is yet to be determined. It has been a bumpy ride so hopefully things will mellow out and I can enjoy this tub without any more issues. Wishful thinking or optimism? Either way moving on in "The Spa Game". Thanks again to the users on this forum for getting me through!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Sorry to hear about that Tom. I think I speak for many of us on here, but thanks for everything that you have done for Arctic Spas, and for assisting all of the customers over the years on these forums. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

640 views on my post since last night! Not even 24 hours!! Thanks people I need a outlet and resource like this very much.

I value the input from others that have come before me. Thank you again ...........

  4. Wanted to let everybody know that Arctic Spas and I have parted company, effective today, on what we'll describe as early retirement (polite word for laid off).

I've enjoyed my six years with Arctic, and wish the company all the best in the future. James is going to be around and will help with customer concerns.

I've also enjoyed my time on this forum. It's been a pleasure to help visitors, join in the debates, and learn from so many of you. All the regulars on the forum have my best wishes as well.

    Keep soakin'

    Tom

Wow, sorry to hear that, you've always been a class act and genuinely helpful to Arctic owners. Best wishes!!!

VERY sorry to hear this!!!!! I have felt some true concern in your posts. I think the company loses some great insight with their decision to " let you go". I hope you find what YOU need out there. Nanaimo dealership could use a guy of your experience. On a personal note, my tub is here and filling on my deck as I post this. Tom thank you for your concerns and attention to the little guy guys out here in the world of tubs. Electrician and spa guy here in the am. to get the tub up and running!! Then..........well we will deal with the next step when it comes. As for today, tub is placed and tomorrow is a new day!! By the way the spa guy did ask for balance on the payment for the tub. That will be taken care of tomorrow as well!!!!!!!

  5. 2:05 empty driveway??? "No Glacier Cory". The guy did call Around 11 am. asking "what color cover did you order?" O well see what shakes down here!!!

    I can hear it already....

"we got your tub in but when we were uncrating it for delivery this morning we realized it was the wrong one with the wrong cover.....now we have to return this one and get the right one coming....damn manufacturer, really it's not our fault, the problem is out of our control"

    good luck

Ah!! 230pm and spa is here on crane truck!!!!!! Crane is too small won't reach to rear deck!! SHOCKER!!! I have called my original crane guy and he will be here in an hour. A month and a half ago, I had him come out and measure the job. NO PROBLEM he says $200 cash. No NO says Arctic guy we will use my guy. So there is a spa in my front yard on my lawn and my guy is on the way. Stayed tuned for further updates kids, this can't possibly end here it is just getting good!!!!!

  6. Talked to keith and things are as clear as mud!!! 3 hours until latest delivery time. Should be here with crane truck to place on rear deck. Fingers crossed and trying to remain positive. Thanks to all for the outlet of frustration. Any bets on whether or not this happens for me TODAY??????

I've got my $$ on it showing up because I gotta believe they know they are close to getting a cancellation. Since this is coming in on a crane and based on what you've gone through thus far I'd take a couple moments when the truck is there to visually verify with the delivery guy that you're getting exactly what you expect before that crane sets it in your yard.

  7. From the original thred starter: "This is ridiculous!!! 1 month late on delivery. Then no show on new dev. date!!". So it is beyond reasonable.

But yes, the speculation on what happened to the money is just speculation. In this economy, though... could well prove out to be the case.

If the orig poster paid w/ credit card.... contact them soon!

I misread the post at first and changed my previous response when I saw the "month late" part. Hopefully all gets ironed out ASAP.

  8. Yeah okay sounds good enough. Second day home from work waiting for delivery! Will be unable to meet previous obligations I have due to this situation. Wife has taken Friday off to enjoy our new purchase. The is a ripple effect associated with these delays is affecting our lives. My electrician is growing tired of my changing plans also. This is making me crazy and I am looking quite the fool.

  9. I would kill the deal personally. how do you think they will respond when no money is involved for after the sale warranty service you may have? Are there other options available to you?

Plenty of other spa dealers around her on Vancouver Island!!! Even another Arctic dealer 2 hours north. I just thought that A customer could be assured of what was promised. The fact is that the "reasons" I am being given for delays seem very weak and somewhat creative in nature. I like the product but am suspicious of the commitment of the dealer employees. Will let you know what happens tomorrow..............

  10. This is ridiculous!!! 1 month late on delivery. Then no show on new dev. date!! Now here tomorrow for 11 am. sure!! Wait 2 hours later phone call changing to 2-3 pm. I am at wits end here and I don't even have the tub here! So far all my $14,000 has got me is a whole lot of broken promises. I could not be more disappointed with this crap so far. Two days of lost wages waiting for a tub that is 10 minutes away in a warehouse. Tom talk your Nanaimo dealer out of this one!!!! If I don't get this done tomorrow I am backing out of this deal. I have never been treated SO poorly by any merchant. I have to get this message out to people. There is a problem here and I am very frustrated. Any suggestions on dealing with a outfit that takes your $$$$$$$$$ then sluffs off your purchase delivery??? Am I out of touch here or is this the Hot Tub Business???????

  11. Hi everybody. This is my first post here.

We have just retired (lucky us) and are about to buy our first hot tub. After a ton of research it has been narrowed down to either a Maax M6 (collection series) or an Arctic Cub Ultra with the Forever Floor, Aqua Tremor and possibly the Onzen.

We are very interested in the Onzen system but I have found some negatives about it on the internet. It seems to be a touchy system to maintain properly and there were some initial issues with the electrodes that may have been resolved by now? I am wondering what comments you folks with Arctics might have in this regard?

We are on one of the Gulf Islands near Comox on Vancouver Island BC. Any comments from anybody on the the two dealers out here (Campbell River and Nanaimo).

I am getting a glacier. Suppose to be here last week but whatever. Anyway dealing with the Nanaimo guys has been touch and go. They liked my $$$, now lets see what the can deliver with product and service. I went with the Onzen system and intend holding the company to its claims with what Onzen says it delivers. There is a lot of opinion on here about Onzen and Arctic. As we are in the same area and dealing with the same outfits, I can keep you posted on the dynamics here on the Island. Now GET ME MY TUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cory.........

  12. New tub should be here this week. Any helpful tips or suggestions from Arctic owners?? Set up will be done by their guy anything I should or could be looking into??? Yes I went with the Onzen. Input from present Arctic owners may prove useful. Anything to help the "newbie" along. Thank you

Welcome to owning an Arctic Spa. I also have an Arctic Glacier with Onzen that is now 14 months old. The only problem that I had is that it quit making chlorine and the Onzen Electrodes needed to be replaced.

Just yesterday it was time to replace the water with new. It was also the first time that I cleaned the jets. Was surprised after 14 months of use the jets looked like new and very little work was needed to clean them.

Wife an I use the tub about 3 times a week and I have the Onzen generator set to run for 8 hours a day. If I go on vacation for a week I cut the time in half and only run the Onzen system 4 hours a day until I get back.

If you have any questions fee free to ask.

    Chuck

Thanks for the input people!! I will indeed get my water tested beforehand...chuck and roger thanks again! Keep the good stuff comin'......

  14. Hi everyone,

Been lurking here a while and want to thank everyone for posting info etc. Anyways, I have an Artic Summit that was delivered 2 weeks ago and been having a hard time and pulling my hair out (Whats left of it) getting my water clear, and won't go into my problems with cut hoses (2 Service calls), pump blowing fuses and I found 2 kinked hoses etc!. Who does the quality checks at Arctic, get with it!

So I Did a test to see if the Onzen is working, bingo, no bubbles. So I placed a service call this morning for them to check this. The service proceeded to tell me that they need to come and do a Onzen retrofit and it concerns plumbing issues  , this needs to be done on all the tubs built within the last few months.

So just a heads up for everyone that bought tubs within the last couple of months from Arctic Spa.

Jesus, what is next for me, I have a $12000 plus tub sitting in my backyard that I only used 3 times since I got it.

    Take care

    Ron

    Hello there to all.

I purchased an Arctic Spa Cub Signature series tub. Paid $11,550. Delivery was on July 27th or so. Had it a couple of weeks and was never able to get a correct bromine reading ever. So I phoned and complained and complained and complained....well turns out they had to do a retro fit with the Onzen system. They came on August 31st and did the retro fit. Had to wait 24 hrs for glue or whatever to dry I guess. Filled tub and added chemicals. It's September 6th today. Last night (the 5th) did a test with strips and voi la, the bromine level was finally correct. The only thing I've had to adjust is the pH level because it is high. So now I'm just in the process of adjusting that. Oh ya the water was cloudy but I'm told that will clear up over time because I just filled tub. It's already started to clear up since last night. Cheers to all and hope to hear from everyone on how their retro fit did. I do love the tub though. I think I should have got a bigger one with more jets. Whats your opinion? :D

ok. had tub on boost cycle and it's done. Just did a test again with strips. pH is on the high side (7.8) so I just added a half a cap full of the "adjust down" again put on boost cycle and will se what happens. I'm sure it will be fine now. Am going to go to the dealer with a water sample just to make sure.

I should be getting my glacier in the next few days with onzen. Man I do hope this isn't going to be my story as well

  15. So what happened Chris? I see a bunch of blank posts of yours...did Arctic do something?

I was wondering the same thing. I know it got resolved but I don't understand it getting wiped out.

This is pretty scary guys, a little too big brother for me. Looks like some moderator or admin must have deleted the posts. Not cool. It undermines the value of this board.

    WHADDUP? with that??

My new Glacier is less than two weeks away. Hoping for the best!!!!!! Much hope indeed!!!!!
