  1. We used JMK in Souderton and have been very satisfied with the results. www.jmkpools.com
  2. We have friends with an older rectangle liner pool with no concrete decking. They have a wood deck surrounding the pool that butts up flush to the aluminum coping and it doesn't look bad. Even with a gunite pool, the top of the bond beam would be concrete, brick or tile capped.
  3. Richard, thanks for your input as well. So far I have attempted to keep my FC at about 1 ppm. That would explain the recommendations I have received for the phosphate levels and regular algaecide use.
  4. Waterbear, thanks for responding. I will take a look at the ingredients to try and determine HEDP vs. EDTA content. This raises another question though. Everything I've heard from 4 different local pool shops and read online is telling me to eliminate phosphates as much as possible. Does the use of an HEDP based product contradict that? And would the use of Pool Perfect Phos Free negate the effectiveness? To better illustrate, here is my weekly maintenance dosing from last season: 1. 8 oz. Natural Chemistry Pool Perfect Phos Free 2. 4 oz. poly 60 algaecide 3. 4 oz. Natural Chemistry Metal Free My calcium was a little high last year so I'm planning to switch to sodium hypochlorite for shocking/opening/closing instead of calcium hypochlorite. Thanks for the input.
  5. Hi guys, new to the board with a question I couldn't find answered here. We're in PA and we will soon start our 3rd season with our pool. It is a 21000 gal salt water, plaster pool with a heater. When it was installed, the installer recommended Jack's Magic Purple Stuff as a stain and scale preventive and he provided enough to get through the first season. The problem is none of the pool supply stores near me carry it. Last year, season 2, I switched to using Natural Chemistry Metal Free. In preparation for this season, I see that Leslie's has their own stain and scale preventative product as well, and for a better price than the other 2. Are you folks with swg pools using products like these at all? Do you recommend alternatives? Is the Leslie's product comparable? Any input you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
