  1. I don’t know how some folks like a tub over 104. We keep ours at 102 and to me that is plenty hot. Anything more for us is uncomfortable. HS gets around this by not allowing the numbers to increase over 104 but the temp will. I too am surprised the tub can not keep up. Our tub maintains the set temp no mater how long it is uncovered and operational. If you are loosing heat that fast I would say you have a bad element in the heater or it is undersized. How quick does it recover once covered? Will it recover uncovered?
  2. Just as you have expressed to us you are decided on a tub and it is the Marin, the dealer knows this as well. Since he knows he “has you” why drop the price?? I would suggest you tell him thanks but no thanks and let him know you are still looking. Tell him that the price has to be 8200 and that is what you budgeted and you know of a couple other dealers that can do that or better. Leave him guessing if he asks what other tubs/brands you looking at. If he can go that low he will at this point. It may take a couple days to get a call back. After a couple days if you have not heard back from him, call him and say your ready to make a decision and you would love to go with his product but it has to be at 8200. You may have to negotiate it up a little but I’m sure you can get your price if he really wants to unload this tub.
  3. Call another pool/spa comapny and have a tech come out. Antifreeze needs to be used as well as it being drained.
  4. Apparently most are at a loss on your problem. I would call the MFG and ask them. Do you have any literature for the tub? Do you have a dealer you can call?
  5. The original Moto Massage was a single line of holes. I have a 2001 Grandee that is a single line. Not sure when that changed in their high end tubs. I think it works fine and enjoy the performance of it.
  6. It sounds like the customer was right in her entire response and was finally taken care of. I found Dan the Spa Man to be very rude and unprofessional. Amazing that he would send a response like that while dealing with a new customer who was having problems with a new spa. Even if he was entirely right this was a sure fire way to keep new and old customers away. Have read this site for years and have enjoyed my HS Grandee for 10 years I have never posted but this message really got under my skin. As a business owner for 20 years…..the old saying “the customer is always right” is true. Even if their not right they should always be treated as if they were. Debating with a customer on a public forum is no way to resolve an issue. IMO Beware of Dan the Spa Man. Sounds like your classic Know it All. How does that crow taste? Not sure who owns the dealer, maybe it is you Dan, but I would imagine they would be displeased to read this thread. If you are the owner, Dan, you may want to pick up a pair of kid gloves.
