  1. I have a 15' above ground pool that I topped off (18" of H2O)with my well. I filtered the water before putting it in but alot of iron got into the pool. Before adding the water it was clear from the winter, but turned green after adding the water. I had the water tested and it was positive for Iron and coppper. I have since added two bottles of metal magic and the pool will clear up and look very nice for a little while then it goes back green again. I think what's happening is the metal is going into solution, but not getting trapped in the filter (using a cartridge filter)???? I'm not sure what to do next?????? Is there that much metal that I might need another quart???? Thanx
  2. My motor for the circ. pump on my hot tub just crapped out. Turns out the front bearing is shot. I'm thinking of just putting a new bearing on, but wanted to know if I did decide to buy a new/rebuilt motor where is the best place to get one? The tub is a jacuzzi platinum series. The motor is a 220V/5.7A magntek. Thanx
  3. look up a cmpany called central spa supply the pre filter I use is called the fiber-Filter and it works great. it retails for around 30 bucks. Just curious, but how many fills do you get with each filter???
  4. I also use the same system and I do not get any reading of free bromine either only after I shock. I was told by the personnel at the pool store that this is normal. I'm most likely going to switch to chlorine as you are right the renew is way too expensive.
  5. I am currently using the leisure time chemicals in my tub. It works fine but it is rather expensive especially the shock(renew). My question is can I continue to use the liquid bromine(reserve) as required, but shock with bleach? If so how often, I currently put in about 3oz of the liquid bromine once a week and shock every other day. Thanx
  6. I just recently purchased a used jacuzzi premium laser plus hot tub. It' about six years old and appers to be in decent condition. I was just curious if anybody has had any experiences with this brand of tub. Not much info on this site or the net for that matter on jacuzzi tubs. I did see that home depot carried a line of these tubs at one point and they were alot of problems, but seems it was a different model than I have. Thanx
  7. The big thing with the tub is it's not in use now and who knows what kind of problems there would be once it was up and running as stated above. They claim it does run fine, but unless I see that I have my doubts. The cover alone cost just over $400, so I'm already over a $1000 and haven't even filled it yet for an 11 year old tub. I think I'm going to offer her alot less than what she is asking and see where it goes, unless she wants to fill it and get it running. Thanx
  8. I looked at a Hot Springs Hot Tub today that someone local has For Sale. I'm trying to get some opionions on whether this tub is worth it or not. It is a 1995 prodigy model that needs a new cover. The tub had froze over quite a few years ago, but was professionaly fixed. It has been used since then and apparently works fine. From what I was told these tubs had shell issues and if the repair kit was not performed on the unit to stay away from. They are asking $600 for it. Thanx
