  1. I have a 1197 maruis leisure series 2 person tub with a balboa board. I have a new 1.5 hp motor they put my pump on after repairing the impellar. I had some wires on my balboa board old and corroded replaced. Allwires on board now look good. I power up tub and it runs fine one speed but when on the speed that calls for heat it runs 2 or 3 secs then off for about 10 secs then back on for 2 or 3 then off 10 and back on and so forth. While running on speed that does not call for heat i got an FL error so i took filter out and put back in and it fixed it error code gone but only until i power tub up again I been unplugging it until i find out why heat wont stay on for very long so after investigating i read the pressure switch could cause this so i bypass it unpluggin it from the board and this changes nothing still on heater speed heat on 2 secs off 1o back on then off etc.. So I plug flow switch back in and unplug the plug next to it which is hi/limit sensor and temp sensor 4 wires to one plug one red and black from temp sensor and one red and black from hi limit sensor. runing tub with this unplugged tub runs on both speeds but of course calls for no heat i get an error code sl or sr. Are one of these sensors bad? Am i bypassing something else. From extensive reading of forum i think i need to bleed pump at pump union run tub with out the filter and check for clogs is this correct. I had another idea its a little tub not much water couple hundred gallon i suppose what if i fill it with water at 100 degrees or so and run tub and see what happens. I bypassed the pressure switch and there was no diff in the way the tub runs can i assume its not the pressure switch? Any advice greatly appreciated.
  2. Yes it could be a clogged filter remove the filter and try running it. it could also be the pressure switch which is behind the heater and under the circuit board on my tub. my pressure switch screws in and has two wires from the board to it. i would imagine it has to be drained before doing this. another idea is bypassing the pressure switch if you still get the fl reading then its your filter a clog or circulation pump i am also new to this and only know this information from reading the forum. The only thing i have experienced is bypassing my pressure switch, which has not solved my problem so i am still learning lots. perhaps this wil help
  3. i have roughly a 1997 marquis leisure bay spa with balboa board when i turn spa on it runs on one speed fine i switch to the speed that calls for heat i hear a different sounds and tub goes off through process of elimination i unplugged the connection of the sensor under the heat and the one that goes into the hottub i did both of them because they are wired to the same plug. with this unplugged the tub runs fine but of course i have no heat anyone know how i figure out which sensor is the bad one. i am really new to the hot tub experience and hope what i am trying to say makes sense. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
