  1. Thanks for the responses. I will at least look at them. What model and how much did you pay if you don't mind?
  2. I'm interested. If you don't mind, how much did you pay? THis seems like a much easier and cheaper alternative to concrete slab.
  3. Whats important is how well they rectify problem and how quickly it gets done. How soon til the repair is expected?
  4. That looks nice man. Is there a "code" or law that defines how far the tub must be from house or from electric breaker? I'm sure it differes from state to state though.....
  5. So you're going to buy a spa for $6k, $8k, $10k but have trouble pulling the trigger on a lifter? I've never met a person who regretted getting a lifter, especially those who get a good lifter. It'll last you for years so instead of thinking of it as a $250 bill think of it more like $30/yr and if that still sounds like too much just skip Starbucks a couple times per year and you'll be even. No, we may still very well get one, but these $250 "options" add up during the purchase. Like I said why does it hurt to start without and then if we decide we really want it, get it?
  6. Well it does seem like a nice feature. My gf and I did not like the way it sat up high forming a "wall" when it was folded off, we liked having it clean/open air around all 4 sides. Altough the covermate II does provide a lower profile. Also it does cost $250-$300 dollars it seems, which is still a consideration as well. We thought maybe we'll start without one and get it if necessary.
  7. Just wanted to see who has the cover lifter option
  8. So when I eventually do get a tub (need house first -LOL) if it is going into the yard, I will likely lay a concrete slab slightly larger than the tub footprint. Any ideas for making this look nice? i was thinking, once the tub is in, just putting a thin layer of crushed stone around the base and surrounding it with partially sunk railroad ties. Any other thoughts? Post pictures of your setup.
  9. Can't answer the OP's question, but how often should a frequently used tub be drained?
  10. They look pretty nice, hust curious if anyone has seen or heard of them. http://www.qcaspas.com/content/home/default.aspx
  11. I am only posting this for fun, personally I think the guy is crazy, but you have to hand it to him for creativity and he did do a good job building it. I bet its not very sanitary though. http://www.hossmachine.info/fun_stuff.html
  12. edit: never mind, I was asking why gas, but then I looked it up and found that gas heaters are an option. Is this inground?
  13. And did you day there are no other covers that would look better that they can simply exchange for you?
  14. First thing my gf and I noticed was when folding the cover off it leaves the cover several feet in the air on one side of the tub. This was a turnoff to both of us. We would rather have a clean view on all 4 sides of the tub. An solutions out there to at least lower it when its folded to the side?
  15. Go with a black or gray cover, that way its neutral and will go with any color siding you choose. Thats my opinion.
  16. Artesian makes some nice looking spas. IF you don't mind, how much do the Island series spas go for?
  17. Was thinking about the audio packages until I saw the price on the first one I looked at. Bullfrog wants $1500 for a Bose package. no thanks. Is the tub too loud to hear speakers that are several feet away or from a boom box with mp3 player attached?
  18. I like the seating layout. How is the lighting package? It seems pretty neat from the description, lighted cupholders and pillows. How much did you pay if you don't mind?
  19. It takes up less room in the spa seating area to have it in the corner so the tub can "seat more people" Really? To me it seems reversed. Doesn't this corner design from Bullfrog seem to cram everyone into the other sides more? vs this design from Sundance? both tubs above are 7'4" x 7'4". If I am ignorant please educate me, as I have not even sat in these before. Just looks like the side filter design is better to me.
  20. Anne are you asking me? I think lighting is important, but it will be further down in priority after the following: jets (quality, layout, strength, type) seats (overall layout and comfort) quality of brand support of brand (dealer, parts, etc)
  21. Is that it? I still don't see the benefits........To me the most obvious place for a filter is the side of the spa, which is supposedly not as good a seat as a corner to begin with.
  22. Are the limelight ones "too party-ish"? We want something that looks cool, but I don't want disco lights flashing and all that stuff. Nice pics btw, and I'm not talking about the tubs.
