  1. Something is obstructing or limiting the flow to heater. Change your filter and see if it goes away.
  2. Upload some pictures of your new plumbing job so we can see exactly what you have done.
  3. Its not legislation its guidelines set by the industry & Independent testing companies like UL. Anything after the end of 05 digital packs no longer have override dip switches. There are ways to override by going into the programming of the board itself but you will void your warranty and most likely screw up your board if not done properly which usually happens. Its doubtful you will find anyone with the proper equip & programming software to do it. You are most likely gonna have to suck it up.
  4. Not energy hogs at all. Pre-2000 absolutely a pain in the a**. If your looking at the Classic series tubs you will be fine. Everything below like the Avalon, Victory series have parts that are more cost friendly than quality.
  5. Pumps do get tired and can have reduced suction and flow over time. Your impeller could be worn down thus pushing less water. Since your pump is quite old an new pump would be an idea. Now at the end you mention a new tub. The question you have to ask is does your current tub serve its purpose or do you feel your missing something? If you are happy with your current tub then I say replace the pump and relax. If you feel you need more therapy then book a wet test at a dealer your considering to really decide whether you need a new tub. Remember that there are very few companies that offer gas compatible model.
  6. I like Ozone if your going to go the Bromine route. Chlorine not so much. My customers are split 50/50 on Ozone. It all comes down to basic water chemistry. If your not covering your basics no amount of ozone in the world will help you. The LE package more than pays for itself in the long run. The foot jets themselves you will find you couldnt be without. Im a big believer in the aquaflo circ pumps (so im biased there). The step is one of the sturdiest on the market which will last as long as the tub. The price difference between the BOP & the LE isnt that much. The plumbing design on the LE is more simplified. You can order the protec step by itself but you wont get the the 4-wall design & will cost you as much as the whole LE package.
  7. Go with the Intelliflo. The whisperflo is only offered in dual speed because of energy bylaws. In reality it offers no better savings than the single speed. The Intelliflo does offer what it says it does & well worth the money.
  8. The RFM Stands for "Reflex Foot Massage" It is the high volume foot jets that come with the LE version. They work really well. As someone who has serviced & ran a Beachcomber store Just stick with the LE Which is standard with the Hush pump LED Light RFM Protec steps. Then have the Ozone ready plumbed in at time of build. This way you can add the Ozonator later if you decide. The ozone preplumb option is only $60 dealer cost. Pretty much 99% of all Beachcombers are sold and made in the LE form If you have any indepth questions just PM me Ill be glad to help you out any way I can.
  9. Mike, you make it sound like it takes hours upon hours to do a 10' square. I takes no time when you r organized. Proper fill, Packer & all wood for forms are brought on site morning of pour. It might take 2hrs of prep max. Cement truck comes, area is poured in less than 20. Top is prepped by me then forms wont come off until day of delivery. A large percentage of my customers come from referrals. I dont need too make huge mark ups on a tiny job when I get multiple jobs which will equate to more revenue without gouging my customers who r already spending thousands of dollars with me.
  10. No longer exists. Those model designs are quite outta date because the 550c hasnt been around for a while either. They are also missing quite a few models introduced from 2004 & up. Web designer is probably just lazy.
  11. I think you would be very happy with the 578. The glacier has good seating but is not comparable to the 578 as the Glacier is truly a 4 person tub where as a 578 can easily fit 5+ people. But do a wet test.
  12. In Ontario PST is not to be charged on your purchase of a hot tub if it is delivered to the final area of use by the retailer. As the Ontario government decided that hard sided tubs are not portable and once wired they become "real property". Now this does not apply to soft sided, rotational mould, and most small 120v tubs. This piece of legislation is pretty dumb IMO since you pay for it anyways. Its buried in the price since the dealer has to pay the PST for the customer on actual landed cost of the unit. It looks nice on paper that your not paying 8% on the retail price but your actually paying 8% on the cost. If you were charged PST for your tub in Ontario you can claim it on your tax return as a deductible.
  13. Its a good price for that tub inwhich it is priced for what its actually worth. It is a starter level tub which will probably perform well. What you should look at is how well did your current dealer treat you over the last ten years with your last tub??? If service was great, then there's no question that you should be buying that tub from him as you know he will be there for you. If service was not the greatest then shop around.
  14. If your really worried 6 gauge wont do the trick then just get #4 and be done with it. But unless your tub has a Gecko XM3 spa pack its doubtful 4 gauge will fit into the board terminals. Every dealer and electrician uses #6 for hot tubs rated 50-60 amps. Its very doubtful your tub will ever near 60 running full. I dont think there is a tub on the market than runs over 60 amp rating. My electrical contractor only uses 6/3 tek cable for all installations.
  15. $1,200??? We charge about half of that for a 10x10 8" thick with ground prep. As we only pay $320 for the concrete with the fibre mesh added.
  16. My first question would be how small is your pool that you only have an H150. Second what died on your heater? The exchanger or something else, since parts are easy to replace on Haywards. If your pool has been winterized properly then you dont need to do anything to it. Equipment opinions vary from installer to installer myself Im a big fan of the Jandy line of SWG but not Heaters. I prefer Raypak or Pentair with the occasional Hayward if it comes down to price for the customer. I strongly recommend a local dealer for these items considering if you have any warranty issues it can be easily be resolved in person or on the spot without having to go through a whole procedure of calling a center mailing or shipping the product back then hoping to receive the proper part then getting someone to install it.
  17. #6 is what you need to use for a 60amp breaker and your tub. You should always check with your local electrical authority though. Your Manufactures manual will also state what Gauge wire you should be using as well. Some even have it printed on the serial plate & spa pack.
  18. Sold & work on both products. The Beachcomber is the more comfortable of the 2 & better built in my opinion.
  19. Post the pics or if the pool is empty there will be a Tag on the underside of the liner on one of the seams. Pretty much all overlap liners are universal for the same dimensioned pool, you just have to know if it is a 48",52",or 54" wall.
  20. The only way Sundance will go under is if the Private Equity firm that owns Sundance & Jacuzzi was going under or selling them off.
  21. The best way is to block it to the height of the brick wall slide it onto the brick wall. Then start to slide it of onto its side which will then prop it upright and have it land on a dolly. To give yourself enough room you may have to remove the brick edging.
  22. If Im correct dont Esther Williams come in panels? If so why couldnt the dealer just order a return panel or retro fit a second return hole at the other end of the pool. Its not that hard.
  23. If you have the room go with the 18x33. I havent seen or heard of structural issues with a properly built oval pool. I usually install a second return on an 18X33.
  24. The back right seat is called a "swivel seat" You can either lounge or sit upright. Ask what repairs were done to it as I can see in the 1st pick the skirting is unlevel. Which means someones been in there for some sort of repair.
