  1. Yes the one lounge model is called the Kodiak. They also have a 7 ft version of that called the Cub.
  2. Hi Dime. Glad to hear the wet test went well. Does the dealer currently have a Klondiker on the floor? If so I don’t see why it would be a problem to get that tub filled so you can wet test it. Just ask nicely and it shouldn’t be a problem at all. Also if you really liked the Tundra, I wouldn’t rule that out as an option as well. As far as the location goes, that would be a very nice spot. It is out in the open but still close enough to your back door for winter time to get in and get out quickly. With the Arctic Cover, it comes with a three year warranty. Most covers last anywhere from 3-5 years, no matter where you put it. We sell a cover protectant that I would recommend for you as well. With the cabinet on the Arctic's, they weather very well. It is made of a Western Red Canadian Cedar. Cedar is often the wood of choice that is used on high end outdoor furniture, as it does not rot. It will require a stain and seal about once every 2-3 years, but that is very minimal, and will keep it looking new. As a matter of a fact, our company offers a plan for free for our customers where we will come out once per year for the first five years and treat the cabinet for no charge. It keeps the customers very happy as well. Also, we just did a trade in on a 5 year old Arctic, that wasn’t covered like you are planning, and it still looks just as good as the news ones it is sitting next to on the floor. Good luck on your search and let me know if you have any more questions. Ed
  3. Thank you! Lake Tapps, Washington state. Its about 700 feet elevation. 45 deg avg temp in the winter (with lots of rain) and 75 deg avg summer temperature. Skiining just 1 hour away at 6500 ft. elevation! That is a very nice set up you have there. Congrats. If you don't mind me asking, what was the total cost of the project? You dont have to answer if you dont want to, just curious. Enjoy!!
  4. Hello Dime, Good luck on your search for a new hot tub. I am an Arctic Dealer in KS, so if you have any questions, feel free to post them here or PM me. I can tell you that Arctic is a quality built spa, as is Marquis. They are both one of 8 spas spasearch certified. I encourage you to wet test both and go from there. I wanted to address the two issues you had brought up with the Arctic Spas. They did have a small issue with some jets popping out on some spas in the past, but that issue has been resolved. Now they use a threaded jet instead of a tabbed jet. The threaded jets don't use tabs so that isn’t an issue. Also as far as the depth goes, Arctic has some very deep spas. The spa you are looking at has a 39" tall cabinet and has some deep seats in it. Let us know how the wet test goes, and feel free to ask any questions.
  5. Just scroll down more. It's still here. Thanks tiny bubbles I found it now, and I see what happened. The reply that I was going to respond to must have been deleted by the mods, and when the deleted, it moved the thread back down towards the bottom again.
  6. I was about to reply to that thread, and it was deleted. What happened to it. Was it the theard that that one poster linked to that caused it to be deleted?
  7. The seminar was a very good one. We stayed at the Loews Le Concorde Hotel in Quebec. Very nice, probably 5 star I would say. They had this great restaurant at the top of it on the 26th floor that overlooked the whole city, and it was a revolving restaurant as well. Pretty cool. The store that I work for won Dealer of the Year, Outstanding Service. We were pleasantly surprised and honored to win the award. We strive every day to have the best service in our town. Arctic Spas treated us very good and were excellent hosts, and we feel very lucky to work for such a great company. Look for a few new changes to appear very soon.
  8. Bonjour from Quebec city. What a great seminar. Lots of new updates to every model, lots of new colors, and much more to come including a new model in June. We toured the Gecko plant which was very cool. Much more info when I get back, and will post some pics as well. Hope I can find some more room in my suitcase to carry home some hardware!!!
  9. Yeah you and me both. Nothing like walking into a party and itroducing youself, and before you can even get your coat off to sit down and get comfortable, you get about 4 or 5 guys that corner you and start hitting you from every angle. Love it!!!
  10. I was kidding. Don't you guys know how to take a joke. LOL
  11. Welcome Ed......I would be more than happy to go toe to toe with you any time regarding Arctic Spas. Just ask Tom.....LOL Thats not what I am here to do. Just to help with shed some light on Arctic Spas, and spas in general, thats all.
  12. Sometimes there is more than a degree variance if you put in a seperate floating thermometor you may find there are 2-3 degrees difference. Thanks for bringing up a lot of good points Chas. I couldnt have said it any better.
  13. Again a completely false statement that is uncalled for. Arctic Spas are just as energy efficient if not more energy efficient that other spas, including full foam spas. The link that Tom posted proves that in writing.
  14. If it were a thermal pane I'd advice you to properly insulate it but since its full foam I know it is insulated well already but your Sundance really should be costing you about the same as your BIL's D1 (assuming similar use). I wonder if you have an issue. The real answer is to put a meter on the spa to see what power it is directly drawing but unless your dealer has that set up its not so simple. I'd start by talking to the service people at the dealer. That is a false statement. If it is a properly built thermopane spa, such as a Arctic Spa, it isnt necessary to add any extra insulation as it is already properly insulated. Btw, Arctic spas doesnt refer to there method of insulatin as thermopane, even though all people on these boards refer to them as that.
  15. Most of the time you could use either one. I would probably stick with what your dealer is telling you though. Often times electricians dont know as much as they say they do. I would go back to the dealer and get the exact electrical specs to give to your electrician. I know on the Arctic spas you can use 6 or 8 guage. Most electricians prefer to use 8 guage as it is a little easier to deal with, and it is typically a little cheaper as well.
  16. Now about thiose pizza slices Spaman was referring to ... Yeah I like Godfathers sliced Pizza!!!!
  17. That post was about more than just his mention of the Arctic Fox but was related to some other posts that had some negativity. If you look at it now you won't see that meaning. He was new though and sometimes people come off a bit strong when new but I'm not going to dredge anything up. Don't worry, I have no issue with Arctic or I wouldn't have listed them as a viable brand when I responded just prior. That's cool. Thanks for the clarification
  18. Bill, I have both of those spas in our showroom so I went and measured them for you. The lounger in the Kodiak is about 5-6 inches longer than the Cub. They both appear to have about the same depth in the lounger as each other. At your size, I would think you would like the Cub better, but it is about the same as the Kodiak, except the Kodiak is bigger. Good luck in whichever you choose and enjoy your Arctic Spa!!
  19. I wanted to first introduce myself. My name is Ed and I manage a store for an Arctic Spa dealer. I have visited this board quite frequently for the last year or so, but I have never taken the time to register a name. I recently joined another spa forum, and decided I would do the same here and start chiming in from time to time. I will be glad to answer any questions in regards to Arctic Spas, and spas in general. I know a few post on here from time to time about Arctic Spas, so I decided I would start to do the same.
  20. You must have inadvertently responded to the wrong post. The poster never mentioned that spa or brand. No he didnt. The poster asked for any other suggestions on brands, and Fredricksburg said to look at the Arctic Fox. Don't see anything wrong with that. But, the Arctic Fox is the perfect spa for somone 5'2". I just had a lady in the showroom earlier today with her husband. They bought a fox and before they left they were sitting in it again dreaming about when they get it. She said that it fit her perfect and that it is her chair. Good luck in your search for the right spa.
