  1. Thanks folks! I'm glad to hear that since I will be saving over 200.00 on this its new in the box
  2. I know someone that has a cover forsale that is 1" to big all the way around for my tub but I need a new cover will this work for me he is selling it cheap. Thanks, Joe
  3. Thanks for all the help folks! I will see if dennis can help, but i think the pump has given up the ghost. I only paid 400.00 for this tub 4 1/2 years ago and only have put a new 23.00 flow switch in and new filters so I got my moneies worth by far. I need a new cover so maybe I can find a place that has both and get a deal. Does anyone know of a place that would sell both items and the exact replacement pump number I would need. Thanks, Joe
  4. ok update on the problem... I was able to get everything back together but now when i either have or try to plug the pump into the power port on the controller it trips the main fuse in the house. I'm starting to think maybe the pump is also blown the coil of wires in the back of the pump that you can see look black. Joe
  5. I went out this morning and saw water coming out of the service panel. When I took the service panel off and I could see the head on the pump had separated from the pump itself about 1/2 an inch. I took the pump out and removed the head and it looks as though the impeller has come unscrewed from the shaft I can’t tell if there is any other damage to the unit. Is there any way to repair this? I can screw the impeller back on but it won’t get completely tight. I also had to hit the front case of the impeller with a rubber mallet to get it back on the 5 posts that don’t screw on but have like a cross hatched pattern on it to keep the housing connected to the pump. Not sure if just the head will need to be replaced or if I should get a new pump with the head on it. This is a 2001 Dimension one Californian with duel pumps in it. I also noticed that neither of the pumps are screwed down to the bottom of the hot tub, they are only connected at the plumbing connection and the pump itself sits on a piece of rubber. It has always been that way as far as I know. Thanks, Joe
  6. I have the Blaster 2000 automatic filter cleaner and I would say it does a decent job of cleaning both my pool and spa cartidges. I have a well so my water pressure isn't up to par with most that have city water. If you have city water I would say this would work better as the pressure willl be better than what I get. I have to use a cap over one or more of the jets to increase the water preasure. Nice thing is they supply two caps with the unit. I would give it an overall 7/8 out of 10 maybe better if I had better water pressure. I also have one of the wands that you can get at namco pools for like 14.99 that you run up and down the pleats I think that one is useless http://store.spa-mart.com/p/00HW4001/Filte...eaner+Wand.html. Joe
  7. The union is right where the shut off valves are in the main equipment panel. you should be able to unscrew these and let air come out until water pours out. I have 4 shut off valves in mine and they are the ones I unscrew to allow air out. If that doesnt work i'm not sure what else would help. except maybe to empty it and a refill using the instructions on easyspaparts.com
  8. I have had this problem to sometimes i have had to unscrew the unions at the main pumps until just water comes out. Also did you fill it where the filters go? You should always fill it where you put the filters in. I also have some screws in between the filters I take these out when filling. I think easy spa link i gave you before has filling instructions. Also if all else fails just try running the jets on low for 30 seconds then high for 30 seconds and repeat. This has worked out for me in the past also.... Joe
  9. I would replace the top controller first. Water in that is not a good thing. I have a 2000 D1 Californian and have never had any problems with getting water in the top side controller. There are some instructions here on how to replace it. http://www.easyspaparts.com/howto.asp I have bought some smaller parts for my D1 from these guys and they have been great. If your going to replace the heater I would empty the tub if not all the way at least below the heater which would probably be about 2/3rds of the way. Let me know if you need anything else. Joe
  10. Do you have a circ. pump in that model? check to see if that is running. I have a 2000 D1 and had a flo error and was told its either the flow sensor or the circulation pump. Mine turned out to be the flow sensor. I also sometimes had to take the top part of the flow sensor off (unscrew it) and then screw it right back in for mine to work after a refill. My circ. pump runs 24/7. I have seen them on ebay for around 170.00. Aslo make sure the arrow on the flow sensor is pointing in the right water flow direction mine points to the right when installed. Do your pumps still work even with the error on? Also what model do you have? Joe
  11. Yes ours uses the small circ pump during heating cycles but still even with our two main pumps on high during a cleaning cycle the spa is not that loud. Joe
  12. We have an older 2000 D1 Californian sitting on a concrete porch right outside our bedroom window and when the tub does it cleaning cycle at 12:00 am, I can hear it when its on high but when it turns to low after 5min all i can detect is a very slight hum. This thing is less than 10ft from my ears when i'm in bed. I would have someone come look at it if its that loud. By the way I have nothing under ours to soften the noise at all. Joe
  13. I would have to 2nd the D1 I bought a used 2001 Californian and the jets are super strong its funny to watch my better half get blown off the seat when I turn the jets on high. I don't think you could ask for more powerful pump/jets in a hot tub and this is a used one. I checked out the new ones at the dealer and it looks like they still use the same pumps so I don't think they would be any less powerfull. The only thing I don't like about mine is I have some jets that are just on or off they don't twirl or anything I'll be replacing them soon. The lounger in mine is amazing when the jets are on high and the jets are twirling all over my back and legs.. The kids like the volcano foot jet in the foot well but the longer is all mine!! Good luck You wouldn't regret buying a D1 Joe
  14. no one knows what this issue could be I replaced the filtes today and I', still getting the same errors. One thing i notice is the bleeder valve farthest from the wall is sucking air instead of water coming out like I saw on the new californian at the store today is that normal. I called a repair guy and he thinks I did everything i can and he should look at it. The place that sells the D1's in my area recommended him and said he should be able to fix it and won't rip me off.
  15. Ok so i got a used 2001 dimension one californian and we wired and filled it toady but ony get 4 blinking lights (jets, light and heat lights blink)when the control panel turns on with an error check water level and clean filter or reset power if that does't help call support. All the jets and pumps are working. I didn't have new filters so I soaked the old ones in filter cleaner , cleaned them with a hose for about 1/2 hour and reinstalled them. the filters didn't that bad at all. The tub was sitting for 3/4 months before i bought it and the owner said eveything was working fine when he had it running. We noticed slime and a small amount of dirt and a ton of bubbles/foam the first time we turned on all the jets. What would be my next step should i replace the filters with new? also should i run the jets and then drain and refill to get rid of the slime dirt etc... Its gettting cold in PA 30's at night so i don't want to leave this thing filled if it will cause a problem. I hope to get some new filters tomorrow if I can get them local. Any help would be great thanks. Joe
