  1. The only reason the jaccuzzi dealer took the spa to Costco was to sell a Jacuzzi. I would only say Jacuzzi gets kudo's if he backed his spa like Costco with a 100% retun policy otherwise they still made alot of money off the sale of the spa which is what they want... a sale!. I know Jacuzzi will never take back the new spa if I don't like it. I am banking on their reputation of providing a quality tub in the first place to provide me with peace of mind. I also was very cognizant that they wanted a sale and that the only way they were going to get one from me was to bring the 850 lb. boat anchor back to Costco. Dimension One and Pacific spas were also willing to move my spa to the curb. I don't know if they would have delivered it to Costco and waited for me to get goofed around by customer service for an hour. As a customer, I was just as shrewd as they were as salespeople and I still know in the back of my head that they are making a killing off of my purchase. Costco does rock for its return policy. There is no way I would have even tried an Infinity tub, that I had never heard of, without that security.
  2. $9259 returned for the tub. The Jacuzzi tub is $200 more. Both tubs are the same size. The Infinity has more jets but they are mostly small jets. The Infinity had a 19 inch Polaroid tv. It was horrible quality. The Infinity had a JVC stereo. It seemed to be decent quality but was oversensitive to moisture and would only work some of the time. The Jacuzzi has a nice simple stereo, supposedly designed by BOSE. I really want simpicity and reliabiltiy out of the next tub. I love to sit in the tub at night and look at the stars on a clear night. There is something about being outside under the night sky. It sounds stupid but I enjoy watching the lights of planes overhead. It is very relaxing especially with a glass of wine. 100% refund including shipping and handling.

  4. The Jacuzzi boys came over today and took the Infinity Tv tub back to Costco for me. It took longer for Costco to part with the refund at customer service than it took the movers to load up and deliver the tub. The customer service representative said she was not used to refunding that amount of money and had to get a bunch of different authorizations. They finally cut me a cheque for the money. I am glad this part is over and hopefully the Costco cheque doesn't bounce. In 4-6 weeks I will have my new Jacuzzi and I will post a photo here.
  5. Requiring 50 amps to run the heater and pump at the same time, and only supplying the tub with 40 will not trip the breaker. Ground faults will trip the breaker, and a few other things but underpowering your load will not trip a breaker. It will only underpower your appliance causing it to not function properly (I.E no heater available when pumping on high) But it sounds like 40 amps is correct for your tub. Does the heater work while the pumps are on and your soaking? There should be an indicator to tell you if the heater is working. The breaker seems to be the answer. I stumbled on to this while looking for an electrical diagram for my tub. I copied this quote from a Jacuzzi manual but I am sure the theory would apply to a Dimension One: "For spas connected to a 40 amp service, jets pump #1 must be set to low speed and jets pump #2 must be turned off to operate the heater."
  6. I live in Niagara. I ordered an Infinity TV tub from Costco in late may. I received the tub in August. My first impression of the tub was that the skirt looked cheap. It was supposed to be a mahogony. It looked weathered and dull. The acrylic on the inside looked sharp. I was really disappointed with the cover. They could not put a square cover on the tub because the tv sticks up about an inch in the front right corner so they had someone at the factory hack the corner off of the foam inside the cover to clear the TV. The only problem was that the cover didn't fit so I had to cut the foam right. Even so, the cover looked ridiculous in the corner with the vinyl sagging without form where the TV was. I had several problems once I hooked the tub up: -One of my jets sucked instead of blowed - My drain bib was glued shut - The thermal wrap insulation was missing from the front cover and there was a 2" gap on the side. -I could see light through the fiberglass and insulation when I removed the side panel. - The TV was broken and had to be replaced. -The Balboa topside control was dim and unreadable in the daytime. I could go on forever with this thing. Being a nice guy, I tried to let Infinity have a try at resolving my issues. I was assured by Costco that I could still bring it back if they don't help me. After 2 1/2 months they replaced the TV. I have a picture now on the DVD but cable is shot because the hook-up keeps snapping inside the TV cover. They sent me cans of spray insulation for the tub and thermal wrap for the walls. The repairman replaced the topside control and it was still dim. he came again and replaced the spa pack and the Balboa control was still dark. He couldn't find the kink in the jet line and said he couldn't spend the time to fix it because Infinity wouldn't pay him for it. He replaced the silver thermal wrap but when he took off the side panels they cracked and wouldn't fit together properly. What a disaster! Now I am going to bring it back. I struck a deal with Jacuzzi. I am going to grab a J-270 with ozone, waterfall, 22 led lights, 24-hour circ. pump, cover lifter and a stereo. The extra cost for this tub over the Costco tub will be only $200 and Jacuzzi will move my old tub out. I also learned that Costco charged me Provincial sales tax of $550 and all the dealers don't charge it. They only charge GST. The only thing left for me to do is make the call to Costco and inform them of the return. I hope all goes well and that I picked a good tub this time.
