  1. i think you will find the epic to give you alot more range in different types and areas of therapy action. both good tubs but i feel the marquis would have the thumbs up on this one just knowing how quality their tubs are. good luck.
  2. when i hear the name coleman i just shutter and hope no-one ever has to deal with that poor of quality in any tub as i had to with that name. two coleman tubs in 18 months and the same problems plagued both of them, cant be just a fluk, must be par for their quality standards. this was a march 2004 and a july 2004 tub both boat anchors for a navy ship. if you had a solar panel or wind mill for the electric bill it would be just ok. i looked and looked at tubs and sales lit. and i felt coleman was one of the top to pick from and the t.p. idea even sounded to make more sense. but as the old saying goes "there is a sucker born every min." i just happen to be one of them and will admit when i was wrong even tho it is hard and takes time for the scars to heal. especially when your wife and kids are counting on ole dad to make the right decision .
  3. WELL PUT!!!
  4. sounds like what happened to me with the COLEMAN 472. believe you me, i did pay the electric bill, big time!!!
  5. as i posted on the other board they are both good tubs. do a wet test on both. the tiger river will filter all the water about 10 to 15 times per 24 hours with their silentflo 5000 pump, while the marquis 630 will filter all the water over 60 times in two filter cycles per 24 hours. i prefer the 60 times. my 530 is using about 80 to 90 cents per day in the month of march and the avg temp outside was 28 with the tub kept at 102. good price on both. wet test wet test!!!
  6. why dont you post this on the :portable spas and hot tub forum, there is alot more traffic on that board.
  7. different oppinion here which is all you find here most of the time. the marquis will filter ALL the water in that 630 from floor to surface more than 60 times a day. that is moving alot of water!! that is during two filtering cycles per day. on the watkins product, hot spring or t.river, the silent flo 5000 pump will completely filter the water only 10 to 15 times per day. i prefer the 60 times during the 2 filter periods. the bottom line is they are both good brands, HOW DO THEY FEEL?? does the 630 have the hk40 jets?? those babys move some water!!! does it have the low e wrap? 6200 is a good price for a 630. my 530 cost me an average of 80 to 90 cents per day in the month of march. the avg temp here in the U.P. was 28 degrees for the month of march.
  8. roger you are right on. i was decieved and led on by a coleman dealer that repair is easier and the heat from the motors cut down the electric bill. shame on me, for falling for that one.
  9. i will add this: on april 1, 2006 i set my marquis 530 into the ECONOMY MODE at 8 am. the temp of the water at that time was 102. i checked the temp again at 4:50 pm just before it goes into the filtering at 5pm. the water temp was 101.4 . the high outside temp that day was 38 F. the morning outside temp was 28. so to drop only 6/10 of one degree over 9 hours at temps in the 30s i dont feel was too bad. marquis does not use the little circ. pump so that is of no issue here either.
  10. call the 800 number at pacific sands, its on the back of the instructions. they are very helpful. good luck
  11. i have had a SPA CAP for awhile and have had good luck with it. it is the one with 3 air bladders in it. check it out at www.spacap.com. not saying it is the best because i have not tested the other 74 mfgs covers as i am sure no one else has. only oppions here. by the way there might be 174 mfgs of covers who knows. get a good one !!!! dont skimp on it.
  12. i have owned both. a coleman 472 and a marquis everyday 530 (full foam with a extra layer of low e wrap) i can tell you through well kept temp. records and kwh used with each tub averaged out that the marquis with the full foam runs about 1/3 the cost of the coleman to opperate. coleman brags up their "thermo-lock" insulating system but it is an energy hog. i am shocked when i look at the stat sheet from WE ENERGIES (my power co.) and compare, facts are facts on this end, i pay the electric bill and i am glad i made the switch.
  13. has anyone ever noticed when you are looking for a spa all the manufactures say they have the best cover like none other? they all blow the same smoke!!! come to find out one company, SUNSTAR makes a great majority of them for lots of companies. what is up with that?? talk about deception!!!!
  14. call the burnsville marquis dealer set up a wet test, then do the same with the others. in the twin cities there are a number of them. but all the talking on here and web surffing does not take the place of a wet test. but start somewhere!
