Pool Problems Help

Hey guys

im trying to sort out the girlfriends mums pool

problem: the creapy crawly pool cleaner wont suck or move on filter mode

but when i select backwash it goes hard ,

then if i select back to filter it goes for aprox 10 min then stops again

both the screens are free of leaves ect

the pool doesn't look to visibly dirty but did have a thin coating for algae till we poured 15l of chlorine in

im lost help guys ?

Take a look at the pressure gauge on your tank (if you have a gauge). Record the pressure and then backwash the filter. If it is a DE filter, add the amount of DE required for your filter model. Check the pressure again and watch the pool cleaner move. The next time the cleaner quits moving, check the pressure gauge again. If it has gone up significantly from the number you got after backwashing, the problem is inside your filter. You should disassemble the filter and clean all of the individual components. If it is a sand filter you will have to change the sand or break it up with a stick. But be sure you are careful and do not damage the pipes inside the filter.

Im not all sure on pressure on gauges on the pools. But it does sound alot like the sand in the filter is a huge problem. How long hasnt the sand been changed. It only lasts for about 2-3 years. Change that if it is older. If the sand is rather new. Take a bag of salt for normal salt pools and put it in the filter. fill it with water and let it sit over night. then backwash the system for 5 minutes and rinse for 2 mins.
