hwf Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I have a 3 year old pool in middle ga. ground is red clay. Had a problem last year when ground water got high, it bulged out the liner. The next day it had all pulled back in place. Earlier this year, the groundwater got up again and it washed some balls of vermiculite out of the corner and stuck behind the liner. This week we got alot of rain. The liner bulged again, rolled the padding in a few spots, popped the liner loose in 3 different places. I can see more "balls" all in the walls. What a mess. Still waiting on my pool contractor to come take a look. Anybody know how in the world this can be fixed? Quote
quantumchromodynamics Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Trying to fix this after construction is not as easy as addressing it during construction. The pool could have been built higher or the pool could have been over-dug and graveled so that high water could be pumped out. An automatic well pump could have been set up to automatically pump out ground water when it reached a predetermined level. You may be able to put in some well points around the pool and a pump to pump out high ground water in the future. However, clay does not allow water to move very well. Quote
