scott12v Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 We bought a 2004 Jacuzzi J-375 about 6 months ago and have loved it ever since. We use it almost daily and haven't had any issues. However, now that we have had our first period of below freezing weather that lasted more than a day, we have what appears to be a major issue (I am unsure if it is actually related to the cold weather). Basically, we used the spa Thursday night with no issue. When we went to get in on Saturday, I saw that the water temperature had dropped to 91 and the display screen was just showing lines and flickering slightly. None of the buttons on the display worked and nothing on the display would change. The tub is getting power since the display is flickering, but that is the only clue that anything works. However, if I flip the GFI box breaker off for 30 seconds and then turn it back on, the SPA immediately starts running for 15 - 60 seconds and then shuts off displaying the same symptoms as above. When it runs, I do believe the heater is running and one pump always kicks on. The other pump sometimes kicks on as well. During this time, the screen is locked so I can't really do anything to help troubleshoot. I found one post on this forum that sounded similar saying that it could be that the circulation pump is air locked, but that seemed like it happened whenever a spa was refilled so I'm not sure if it is the same problem (and of course I am at work now and can't check until tonight). I want to get a repairman out asap since the temperature is still cold outside and I don't want the tub sitting full of water...but I also don't want to drain it because as soon as I do, I can't demonstrate the problem. If I don't get a repairman out today or tomorrow, I will have to drain the tub (the water temp is currently at 84 and seems to be losing heat very slowly when the cover is down). The temperature is supposed to be above freezing for the next day or two but will go back below freezing later in the week. Any thoughts? Thanks, Scott Quote
fabio_22 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Scott, Sorry, no clue here. Your warranty should cover any issue. Did you call your dealer/ You kink of freaked me out, since I just bought a J-355 about 6 weeks ago. It's been real cold here too... currently 28 F. I just went out and lifted my lid and it's holding steady at 102. Once again, sorry... I have nothing to add except, that your Jacuzzi warranty is one of the best in the industry.... you paid for it... put it to work for you. ...edit... oops! Just noticed that you mentioned this was a used tub. Quote
