I'm trying to help my friend troubleshoot his hot tub. About 8 months ago, he replaced the heater because he said it wasn't working. Then he said that it worked for a couple weeks and then stopped again. He hasn't done anything since. Recently, I looked at the controller board and found the terminal connection to the heater was burned pretty bad (board looked fine). I cleaned up the spade connector on the board with a wire brush and replace the female wire connector with a new one. I found the terminal posts measure 240V when the heater light is on so the relays seem to be OK. The heating element measures 10.5 ohms. So the heater draws ~23 amps. I think that seems reasonable. But the heater turns off after a while and doesn't turn back on. There are no error codes displayed unless there is some sort of procedure I'm not aware of to check the codes. I'm wondering why the controller is not turning the element on. Could we have a bad temp sensor or flow sensor without error codes? Thanks for your help (in advance)!
