When I closed last fall, I drained to waste w/ both the skimmer and mains until the skimmer started sucking air, then closed the mains until the skimmer line was dry and the pump lost prime - then immediately closed the valve for the skimmer, killed the pump, and added antifreeze and gizmo to skimmer. Thought this was a nifty way to completely drain the skimmer.

Closing tomorrow afternoon, was planning to do the same thing. Anything wrong w/ that? Everyone's pump runs dry for a few seconds from time to time, so I'm wondering if there's any harm here?

TA and pH levels are within limits, shock level is dropping slowly - was going to dilute a bottle of poly 60 in parts in a 5 gallon bucket and add via the skimmer early tomorrow morning, let the pump run and drain/blow/add antifreeze/add caps and gizmo/install cover mid-afternoon. FC will be higher than I'd like before adding poly 60 (prob around 10ppm) but I want to close tomorrow as we're expecting rain Tuesday.

As always, hearty thanks for any feedback.
