mejim707 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Hi, I have recently gone through quite a change. My pool blew a wall out and fell down. I had a new one installed. I purchased a Sta-Rite 200,000btu propane heater for the new pool. To use the heater there were countless logistics issues with the location of the heater and clearances. To use it I needed to move the pump, filter, and my electric to the other side of a large deck. For electric I have 2 new runs from breakers, trech, thhn, gfci, pvc- the whole nine. Digging the trench for the electric was a terrible job with massive rock even though the ground had been built up in that area. Now, to get the propane in I would need to dig an 18" trench for the copper for about 25 feet. This trench would be under deck on ledge and simply isn't possible. A few people said the propane line can be strapped to a fixed structure such as the deck. The 120 gal tank would be on one side and the heater directly on the other. Is this common or possible? What are the logistical issues associated with such a thing? Thanks Quote
