Cayman Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Hi Everyone, I am new to this site and just wanted to add some info for new (and maybe old) pool owners. We live inthe country and our new pool became the evening's entertainment for racoons and other creatures. I never saw them, but they left me little presents, mostly poop, sand and dirty footprints! I tired motion activated lights, left the pool lights on, and even hung wind chimes - they did not care. I was having problems with my timer and the pool system came on at odd hours. Whenever the timer came on at night , thus activating the automatic cleaner and skimmer and pump, it apparently made enough noise to scare them away. I've now gotten a new timer, that works properly, and set it to turn on at 10pm and off at 6am. Guess what, no more evidence of critters in the pool. It's been about 3 weeks now and I am crossing my fingers that this continues to keep them out of the pool. Hope this may help others and if anyone has other suggestions (in case they get used to the current solution) I welcome them. Quote
