30-A rider Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 The Leisure Pool Classic 19" Roman pool fits my needs best I have determined. The installer/dealer has been in business longer than anyone in my area best of my knowledge. Im a novice and dont know what is a good, fair or bad deal. Quote I was given as follows: 1. Base price of pool $18K 2. Jandy salt water chlorine generator $1,500. 3. If necessary dewatering should water be hit on construction $700. Additional in the price is: Pentair high rate sand filter w/ zeobrite media 1 hp Pentair whisper flow filter pump Pentair rainbow life guard manual vac Equip set Saftron Premium Colored RTD handrail 3' concrete deck w/ colored multi-coat topping All schedule 40 - 2" plumbing Hayward Skimmer w/ color face plate & 3 rtn lines 3 year warranty on all equipment Two powerlite PAL-2000 Low Voltage pool lights All Permits and taxes included Note: This quote total is for $19,500 all included but I spuuly the electrical work and electrician. Is this fair, good, bad deal? My initial problem with it is the dewatering charge1 I live in Florida as is this company based right out of Panama City Beach Florida!!!OF COURSE YOU GONNA HIT WATER. I hit water installing fence posts at every house Ive ever installe d a fence on just going down 2.5' down for posts! I think that should just be assumed and included, but hey Im a novice this is why Im asking. Now I know pools are not selling well at all in my area and they need work. My question is if I wait till end of summer or early fall can I haggle and strike a better deal? This is the initial estimate...is buy a pool like a car....they expect me to haggle and not pay retail with regards to thier estimates? Thanks for any replies in advance gentlemen! Quote

No offense but when splashing out on a pool that is $19,500 you might as well pay the 700 for dewatering!! im sure there are other companies out there that will be competative.... try bartering them down, its not as difficult as you think!
