  1. At this point, if you're comfortable with all three dealers, let the wet test be the deciding factor. I think the three brands are all in the same ballpark as far as quality is concerned. Pick the one that feels best to YOU. Good luck!
  2. Craig, You have a better chance of getting the launch codes for our nukes or the key to Fort Knox than getting what dealers pay for spas. It's the most closely guarded secret in the world!!!
  3. There are so many schools of thought on this, it's unreal. I'll relate my experience. I have had a Marquis Epic since the middle of Oct. It has an in-line frog system (bromine and minerals). My bromine readings have been between 0.5 and 1.0 since I've had the spa. The water has been clear. I shock weekly with MPS and use a tsp or two of di-chlor AFTER using the spa. The only water problem I've had is when we went away for a long weekend, the water was green when we came home. I discovered this was due to the fact that the bromine cartridge was empty. They say you can get 3 weeks out of it, but that's not the case for me. Doubled shocked the spa, replaced the cartridge and the water cleared up in a couple of days. I also have ozone. Do you use minerals also? drprwnap
  4. Hi Brad. As a new Marquis owner I must say you are looking at a GREAT spa. We looked at the Reward but during the wet test found it too deep for my wife. We were quoted a price of $7400 plus tax from a dealer in eastern Ohio. Long story short, we waited for the Epic and fell in love with that model. After 2 months of ownership, I cannot say enough good things about this spa. No problems at all. The frog system is great, IMO. Many people don't like bromine but we have found no issuses with it. BTW, we got the Epic out the door for a little more than your quote for the Reward. I don't think that I could get the same deal now. Marquis didn't know what a great product they have with the Epic and priced them a little low at first. Those days are over, I think. Anyway I think your quote is fair. Have you looked at the Epic? If not, I would urge you to do so. You can always haggle on price. Good luck drprwnap
  5. This is the most inaccurate statement I have ever heard. I'll bet the price of my ff spa that if I lose power overnight, I will NOT have $1000 to $2000 in damages. In my shopping experience, it became clear to me that the type of insulation really didn't matter. I live in PA. so it gets cold here, also. Buy a top brand from a good dealer that feels best to YOU after a wet test. A spa is like any big ticked item. You might get a "lemon". No manufacturing process is perfect. That's why to go with a top brand and good dealer. If you do have a problem, they will work together to solve it. Good luck.
  6. I have the opposite problem. I've had my Marquis Epic for a little over a month now. It uses the in-line frog system, bromine and minerals. I shock with MPS. I have a low alk. problem. I've been adding about 1/4 of alk. increaser every week. I've read in other forums that baking soda will RAISE alk. with little impact on pH.
