  1. a few things i have heard in my ongoing research into the same are this; A. stay away from thermo spa B. Hot Springs Spa's had a huge problem recently with their heating elements.... i believe I heard the word "recall" in there. There are a few law suits for burnt down decks and such. Hot Springs also makes Caldera. HMMMMM.... makes me leary of Caldera, they are both in my area, too. C. Coleman is overpriced. Now this is debatable of course... depending on dealer possibly That's all the dirt I got so far, check the better business bureau before you buy, just a suggestion. Let me know if you hear anymore about Vita Spa, I'm really leaning that way and my local dealer offered me a price I can't beat on the cabaret model..... with 84 very well placed jets, yay buddy thats what i'm talking about
  2. Yes that is helpfull, them arguing back & forth for the past week just confused me, I'm all about keeping it simple. Not ignorant or anything just simple. What kind of spa do you own? or service?
  3. thanks for posting such a valid question. I was really focused on the whole insulation thing for a minute. I have realized that is becuase the sale reps. make such a big deal of it, i felt i should too. But after reading all these replies I realize that it should not be top priority in my priority comparison. I'm going after jets, warranty and reputation of dealer and service instead. I'm definately going to wet test once I get it narrowed down.
  4. In your opinion who has the best warranty out there? I mean full coverage warranties, not on the cover, on the important stuff?
  5. I'm doing a lot of research for my purchase. Thermospa and Coleman claim that my maintance and repair bills will be higher with a full foam insulation. I live in Michigan, gets freezing cold often. I have read that the difference in energy conservation is minimal. Is the other type of layered insulation any less on the repair bill. Is it in fact any less on the electric bill than the full foam? Is the other type of insulation recommended for my area? Or would I be asking for trouble? I have a hard time believing that a dealer could sell these models in my area if they weren't ok. for freezing weather. And...... does anyone have an experienced opinion on the thermospa maintanance and repair service? Thanks, for any and all help.
  6. I have finally decided to purchase a new hot tub. I didn't know there were so many different brands. I have seen the new Coleman models, I have ordered brochures from Jacuzzi, Caldera, Hot Springs, and Therma Spa. Thats five to sift through right there. I am quickly putting Therma Spa aside. I live in Michigan, it gets pretty darn cold here. So theres that to consider. Plus how do I know what to expect price wise with these different models and brands. Isn't there a MSRP that these companies could give us a clue with? I know the Coleman were between $6 and 8 W/ a cover, ozonator, 3 months worth of chemicals and delivery and set up. Is this a good deal? How do I know? Do I really have to visit 5 or 6 different showrooms? Is there a whole other brand I should be considering? Help!!!!
