Question for gunite builders. Do you take any precautions with new plaster and when you add the salt? Waiting few weeks, starting with chlorine etc? Also looking for opinions on the mineral springs MS-10 unit vs the Jandy AquaPure 1400. Any thoughts or experiences appreciated.

I would wait a couple of weeks after the marble dust. That's what we do. We also don't vac for at least 2 weeks after fresh dust. you could leave wheel marks in it. We brush daily for minimum two weeks. Also, we always brush a pool down after adding salt. I just don't like it sitting on the bottom even though it will dissolve.

Wait at least 6 weeks before adding salt and do not even consider the Mineral Springs unit. The Jandy AquaPure is much better.

Aquacal makes the PoolPilot Digital salt system which is a great unit as well. It is the same company that makes awsome heatpumps
