grinder
Can anyone help me with what I should expect to pay for a DIY pool, delivered to my home in Maine? We are looking at a pool approx. 15x34 Viking,San Juan, Blue Hawaiian. The big differences in each? Any comments would be helpful at this point as everyone I talk to tells me something different. Am I crazy to put a fiberglass pool in? Thanks
Dennis
There are many variables to the cost of fiberglass pools. I committed to a 16X34 fiberglass pool by American Pools in Houston, Texas last week. AP has been building fiberglass pools over 35 years and were the most helpful of all the manufactures I talked with. I will do the excavation and AP will only set the pool and do the plumbing. After a lot of research and fact finding the logical choice in my opinion is a fiberglass pool. If price is a factor then go with a vinyl liner or gunite. Fiberglass tends to be more expensive on the front end but more cost effective on the long term. The cost for my pool was ~13.5K (pool shell) + 2K (upgraded coating) + 1.5K (shipping from ~180 miles) + 3K (installation) + 4K (equipment). Note this does not include the cost of excavation and any concrete or landscaping. I have budgeted over 50K for my pool.
