What should I expect as far as water needing to be turned period I am finding about six weeks the way I use it it is ready to be changed out. It is a 280 gallon three man tub. It is a silver ion filtration system and I use chlorine and a little MSP combined for sanitizer. I refresh the filter and change every two weeks. I guess I'm just looking for thoughts and anyone who has experience with the tub that gets use this much if that is normal. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The general recommendation is every 3 to 4 months, depending on usage. The usual guideline cited is when the total dissolved solids (TDS) are 1,500 ppm greater than the beginning TDS. However, TDS is not easy to measure. My wife and I use our tub almost every day. We probably average about 1 person-hour total soaking time per day at 101 degrees in approx. 220 gallons. I stopped mixing msp and now juzt using nature 2 silver ion and chlorine only. The MSP was irritating my skin I finally figured out. I think I will stick to 6 to 8 weeks for water change the way I use it.... I have a well and water doesn't cost me anything to fill the tub....
