bexman
Hi guys When ever I get the foam issues, I use the foam away as directed by the dealer but the next day I get awful scum problems. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
apostlej2015
Foam away is a temporary fix. Using too much causes issues you cannot recover from till the next drain/fill. I am going thorough this now. Go get a water clarifier. It will coagulate all the organics. Make sure you remove your pillows, have jets on high w/ aeration on. You will see the nasty gunk form on the the raised water line immediately. Just let the clarifier do its thing. In a couple hours, the water line will be the normal (much lower). You can take a terry cloth towel or paper towel and wipe off the greasy gunk. Keep in mind this gunk will not come off the towel! Despite my dealer saying this is normal, it is not. scum/organics/biofilm are caused by improper sanitization levels. There is plenty stickies that will help you get to a better system of maintenance.
chem geek
If you want to thoroughly remove greases, oils, and biofilm from your spa, use Ahh-Some.
