wave1 Posted October 17, 2009 Report Share Posted October 17, 2009 I just had a fresh (water truck) refill and things have been running well, today after about three weeks I topped up the hot tub with tap water (well water) and about a half an hour later I went back to the tub and even though all levels are fine, the water is GREEN. I have had my tub for approx. 1 year and have always topped up the tub this way never with any problems or green water. My water is high in iron but as I said I never had a problem before and I have a water softener (Salt) and a water conditioner (Fer-Sul / Cullsorb Conditioner) After some investigation, it seems my water softener has died on me, therefore my tub received unsoftened but conditioner water, and I did just recently turn my Conditioner back on after not using it for almost a year...so here are my questions 1) Can I safely assume based on when this happened, A) that the softener is no longer working is the problem...OR... B that fact the the conditioner is NOW TURNED ON is the problem? 2) Is there any thing available that I can add to my tub to correct this, (my local spa store is closed until monday) or do I need to do a I have to do another fresh refill??!!
