YakiSOBA
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could help me with some advice/suggestions. We are having a deck built right now, and they have included space for a typical 8x8 hottub for the winters. We went out looking for hottubs today and saw a few... I'm checking online for some reviews and have not really seen any. 1 was a Tonga hot tub by "Leisure Bay Spa" brand, and another was called the "Elite" by "Maax" brand name. In general, we are looking for a 6-7 seater (big family), no lounger, and not ridiculously expensive (around $5000 - $8000) If you have any suggestions for us that arent those 2 brand names, please feel free to advise! Thanks so much =)
spa_newb
Stay away from Maax as they are going through aquisitions, etc and the company situation appears to be unclear. The Brands I see mentioned most here are: Dimension 1, Hot Springs, Sundance, Arctic, Jacuzzi, Bullfrog, Master, Caldera, Artesian among many others. Good luck. I am also looking for a 6 seater in the less than $9,000 range. So far my two favorites are the Sundance Chelsee ($7000-8999) and the L.A. Spas Concord ($7,000-$8999). Windowlicka
Stay away from Maax as they are going through aquisitions, etc and the company situation appears to be unclear. Hmmm... I think that statement is perhaps more than a little misleading. I'll be taking delivery of my new Coleman #871 (by Maax) spa tomorrow afternoon. Maax are not (to my knowledge) "going through acquisitions"... Coleman (a brand-name that Maax owned the rights to market) recently decided to put their brand-name "up for auction". Maax were apparently outbid, but as a manufacturer, Maax are very much still in business and simply marketing the very same product lines under their own brand name instead. If you know otherwise, then I'd be very interested to follow any links you are able to post to substantiate your claims. FWIW (and after reading other tales of delivery woe here/elsewhere), we've been very impressed by Maax, and our dealer's service/support thus far - they quoted 3-4 weeks delivery, we saw our tub at the dealer's store on Saturday - 3 weeks to the day that we ordered it. Of course we've yet to try our tub out, but hope to within the next 48 hours or so (beers are chilling in the fridge as I type!)...
