PDub Posted July 21, 2008 Report Share Posted July 21, 2008 I'm trying to find a thread that talked about SWG and using shock instead of the super chlorination setting to save the cell. It mentioned curtain shock to stay away from as well. Searching didn't help. If you find it, can you link it to me? thanks I hope I'm not making things up again. chem geek Posted July 21, 2008 Report Share Posted July 21, 2008 You just use chlorinating liquid or 6% unscented bleach to raise the FC to shock level. You generally avoid using Cal-Hypo if the CH level is already high as it will be in a plaster pool. You also avoid using Trichlor or Dichlor products since they increase the CYA level.
