  1. Thank you for the info. The price that I was given was $8495 (including the cover, lifter and all the other freebies that they are currently offering). Of course, we have to pay CA sales tax on top of that, but I've yet to find a way to get around that! Thanks again.
  2. First off, thanks to everyone for their responses/help regarding our first post ("1st time buyer) about comparing different spas. After wet testing, we have decided on the Dimension 1 Diplomat spa, which was extremely comfortable with incredible massage ability. Now a follow-up question: Is there a way to find out what a reasonable price is to pay for a specific spa? I know you can get actual dealer cost info on a new vehicle, but is there a way to get this info on a spa? If not, does anyone have that kind of info available to them? I'd like to have some sort of assurance that I'm not getting taken to the cleaners. Thanks again in advance for your responses.
  3. Well, we wet tested both the D1 and the Caldera yesterday, and the D1 is head and shoulders better than the Caldera. Both the wife and I floated out of the lounger and some of the seats in the Caldera. Also, she slipped and almost fell 2 times getting into the Caldera due to the slickness of the finish. The jets, massage ability, and overall comfort of the D1 was much, much better than the Caldera. Within a few minutes of sitting in the D1, we knew without a doubt which was the spa for us. Now a follow-up question: Is there a way to find out what a reasonable price is to pay for a specific spa? I know you can get actual dealer cost on a new vehicle, but is there a way to get this info on a spa? If not, does anyone have that kind of info available to them? I'd like to have some sort of assurance that I'm not getting taken to the cleaners. Thank you to everyone who had input regarding this issue. It was greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks to everyone who has replies so far. We are planning on wet testing in the next couple of days. I know that's the best way to see exactly how the spa fits you as a user. It sounds like either of these spas are seen as pretty good quality, which is nice to hear. As a first time buyer, it's all very confusing and diffcult to decifer all of the info. Thanks again, and feel free to give more info.
  5. OK, I'm a first-timer here, so please don't beat me up too much. I am hoping to get some honest, 3rd-party information/reviews on some spas that we are considering. This is our first spa purchase, although we've been considering it for many years. We've looked around at various suppliers, and also done quite a bit of research on the Net. However, it's hard to find a site where you can get some good, honest, detailed information. We have pretty much narrowed our choices to D1 and Caldera. We weeded out Hot Springs because we weren't impressed with the number or size of the jets. I am hoping that some of you can help me in the reliability/performance of these spas (or others that you may recommend). We are leaning towards the D1 Diplomat over the Caldera Geneva. This is because of the dual lounge feature for wife and I (which Caldera doesn't offer), as well as the number and size of the jets (which are both greater than the Caldera). We aren't interested in stereos, goochie lights or other "fluff". We just want a good, reliable, cost-effective spa. They both appear to be well-made units, and it's very difficult to try and sort through the salesmen's claims that each of their units is the better spa. The price for the D1 is also considerably less ($8500 vs. $10,500). So, does anyone have some honest info on these and/or other spas? We live in the Northbay area in California, and we are set on purchasing from someone who has a rep in our general area. Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give!
