I would like to clarify my problem, if I may. I retested the water this morning. (Taylor 2006) Chlorine and Bromine are way off the chart even after diluting twice. pH is purple (because of the Cl level). Our pool store expert wants to sell me a product called BioGaurd Chem Out (Sodium sulfite, sodium sulfate, and sodium chloride). The booklet that came with the kit says to use sodium thiosulfate as a sanitizer neutralizer. What is the difference, and pros and cons?

I am new to pool chemistry. I have found myself running a 20,000 gallon indoor bromine sanitized pool at a motel, having refinnished it first. I opened it 3 months ago, but It just tested positive for coliforms. I closed it and by the advice of my pool store guy dumped in 12 gallons of liquid chlorine. After I get it retested and it passes, what do I do then?
