  1. Sounds like you're missing a check valve. If there are threads on that port then I'd think there should be a check valve screwed on it to only allow air to go in and not let the water out. My D1 has 2 of those in the equipment area.
  2. Well, I talked to Balboa today, and the topside controls are fairly standardized. In other words, they said a 7 button control for an m7 technology controller would interchange with about any other 7 button m7 controller, 8 button for 8 button, etc... The tech guy was very helpful, but spoke fast and gave me a ton of info in a very short time - not sure I absorbed it all.
  3. Ok, now for my second question. My 1996 Dimension One Triton Ultralife (which I recently got used and nonfunctional) is somewhat up and running now. I am still trying to decide on which way to go as far as replacing the control system, but at the moment have it set up to run the pump on high when you turn the GFI breaker on. Since my wife is about 6 months pregnant we aren't worried about heating the thing right now anyway. The 90 degree temp the outside air heated it to is fine with us and safe for the baby... I did not get a manual with this tub, and the D1 guys don't go back far enough to provide me with one. There is no air pump on the spa, but there are 2 vertical tubes in the pump cavity that have check valves on them. Would this spa have some kind of venturi system to allow air to enter through the check valves into the jet system? Is there any way to control that feature? Are those tubes where you'd connect an air pump if I were to want to add one? There is one rotary valve knob topside that switches between some of the jets, but that is all I've fou so far. I also discovered by accident that the ring around the jets lets you turn them on and off. I'm a total newb to spas, so thanks for the help! Thank you, Jason
  4. Thanks for all the info. I figured they had a common interface between all the units so there would be more interchangeability than that. Oh well. Jason
  5. So, this many spa manufacturers, dealers, and repairmen and no one can answer about how interchangeable the topside controls are?
  6. Hello - looks like I found a good forum to help answer my questions as I set up an older Dimension 1 hot tub. I actually have the tub filled and running, but the circuit board in the original control system is completely fried. At first I planned to just replace the circuit board, but it looks like for very little more I could upgrade to a digital control system. This would also help from a temp sensor standpoint since the original through wall mounted temp sensor has been pushed back and the hole sealed up after the bulkhead fitting failed. To replace the sensor I'd have to stand the hot tub on its side and tunnel in through the insulation. The newer units don't require the external sensor. Anyway, here is my main question - where can I get info on what Balboa topside controls work with which control systems? In other words, is there a compatibility chart, or do all balboa digital topside controls work with all digital control boxes? Thank you, Jason
