  1. Just a thought on salt water systems. I worked as a Structural Maintenance/Corrosion control specialist for 10 years and as a rule salt water + anything equaled corrosion eventually. My wife and I Wet tested just about every spa that you did and we decided on the Sundance Altamar. We have had our spa for 3 months now and LOVE it. The reason we picked Sundance was the filtration system, individual jet control and the wet test. Our second choice was the Arctic Klondiker the reason we did not chose Arctic was that we had the salesmen pull off the panels and turn on the jets when I saw how the piping moved each time the jets were turned on. I decided against Arctic. The mechanic in me said problems down the road with things coming loose
  2. Going on 3 months now and loving it. I am a soaker while my wife is a jet setter. Isn't it that way always...LOL
  3. Thanks "PG". That makes a lot of sense I will do that for the chemical circulation.
  4. Make sure that a 50A will run the pumps and the heater! You may need a 60A to run the pumps and the heater at the same time! This is the case with my Sundance Altamar if I would have taken the dealers advice I would have only has a 50 amp box and the heater would not run when both pumps are running. ASK TO SEE THE OWNER'S MANUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Thanks for the responses. I will soak on for now and drain and refill in 4 to 6 months as recommended by dealer and this forum. Thanks again...JP
  6. It seems that I have stabilized the chemicals within the last week. I have great readings now with PH Bromine Alkalinity Ect. Now the book says I should drain the tub one month after my first fill. Can anyone tell me why I should do that now that I have all Chemicals balanced?
  7. What did your dealer say??? I think your spa is full foam. I have not talked to dealer yet. I thought I would try this and compare notes to this forum and what the dealer has to say. Yes this is supposed to be full foam but when it gets below zero I don't think the full foam will matter. Will it?
  8. I have a 2007 Sundance Altamar and live in Ohio. When I am in the tub and turn on the water fall the water first comes out cold. Will the line going to the water fall freeze during the winter? Should I leave the water fall running with just a trickle of water going through it to possibly prevent the water line from icing up? Any experience or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks, JP

  16. I just purchased a Sundance Altamar for $8995.00 with a 10% store credit $(899.00) that I can use to purchase anything in the store. First thing we used it for was Cedar Steps still have 500.00 left. I think I got a great deal (or did I) what do you all think?
  17. I'm curious too! Sundance won hands down. My wife was blown out of the arctic lounger on the Kodiak the lounger was to long also the Sundance Cameo when you put the jets on (even on low) she floated out of the longer again it was to long but on the Sundance Altamar her feet were able to touch the end of the lounger and she was able to stay in that lounger. I tested all the tubs and it was the exact same for me too. I floated out of all loungers except the Altamar + the jets at our feet on the Altamar felt FANTASTIC absolutely well worth the wet tests. My wife was leaning towards the Sundance cameo but the wet test made all the difference. WET TEST WET TEST WET TEST before you buy any hot tub!!!!
  18. No, it didn't have Mahogany sides...LOL and yes all of the jets were adjustable! we adjusted many jets and she still floated away it was the length of the lounger not the jets in fact we were very impressed with how you could control each jet individually on both tubs.
  19. My wife and I just wet tested the 2007 Cameo and the 2007 Altamar. My wife floated out of the Cameo on the lounge seat. The Cameo was to long for her. The Altamar has a shorter leg span that she was able to put her feet on to keep her from floating away. Boy am I glad we wet tested them. She originally liked the Cameo when she got in the tub dry, but after the wet test the Altamar was the clear winner for us!!!
  20. Thanks, I am wet testing Arctic and Sundance this weekend.
  21. I live in Northern Ohio and I am looking to purchase my first hot tub. I would like to know which tub I should go with between Arctic, Sundance and Coast. The prices for the tubs I am looking at are within $600.00 of each other so I am not concerned about the price. I am concerned about which tub is the best built and has the least amount of customer complaints. Each salesperson that I have talked to has had there good points about their tubs and I am going to wet test the tubs that I am interested in. Out of these three hot tub manufactures that seem to be of quality should I just go with the one that I like when I wet test them or is there one manufacture that is just a better quality tub and I should go with them? Any help would be very much appreciated. Always cold in the winter OHIO
